Is that from today? If so, then I'm out of excuses 🤷‍♂️

Camera work is not that flash most weeks tbh, but it did seem worse today.

I also noticed that ground noise was very low, you could barely hear the siren for example. Mind you the sound of the wind came through OK.

I suppose it boils down to this; the AFL allocates a very small budget for the coverage and this is the best they can do.

Yep today. Didn’t see the actual camera tbh.

Butler went out of the seniors with injury, and can’t get back in, because they prefer Breust (a great at the Hawks) but cooked, bar maybe one quarter
Butler struggled in the game against North and hardly touched it. Since then he’s been solid but hardly knocking the door down at VFL level. Breust has also been the sub.
BMac just doesn’t look the same player after playing 5 games 5 subs and getting dropped
BMac seems to be mainly added for his speed. His games as sub weren’t anything to write home about nor has he been playing well enough to get AFL game time.
Like someone said earlier, a mystery of MacKenzie complete drop off, since getting injured early in the year, was playing well in the seniors up to then
He had a good game against GWS but his other games were solid at best. He was showing promise but wasn’t putting together full games even before injury since then he’s fallen right off and even when he’s gotten game time he’s come up short.

As for the rest Huss and Mitchell have got AFL time and haven’t been up to it. Serong isn’t replacing anyone in our backline. Ramma is the unlucky one being 5th key forward in line, he’s had some good games.

Beside Ramma none of the other guys should feel hard done by. Instead focussing on lifting their own performance to the level that will keep them in the team and taking the opportunity if/when it presents itself.

Do they do the commentary from there? I always assumed that was for the cameras. I thought they would have had a enclosed commentary place. The 3WBC guys used to have one.

Yeah the seated bloke was doing commentary from there today.

The state of umpiring is in disarray. That was a deplorable performance from the umpires. They honestly do not know the game.
AFL is bad, then there is VFL, then there is AFL W which is even worse. Makes you think if they’re all so bad and worse at every grade the it’s the rules. For example, “insufficient out of bounds” you couldn’t make it a more a
grey area. Push in the back and holding ball even worse. So many rules are just up to the Interpretation of the umps ( most who have never sniffed playing the game). It’s a bloody disaster. And not getting better

Yeah agreed. I've been watching a few replays from the threepeat era, and the way the game is umpired has changed so much that it's almost unrecognisable. There's a laundry list of rules and interpretations that have fundamentally changed. Must be a nightmare to umpire.

I was talking about Bailey MacDonald’s form for BH before he got picked for the Seniors, since being the sub 5 times in the seniors, his form for BH has fallen away, so yes he ain’t getting picked for the seniors anytime soon

Probably why Connor MacDonald keeps getting a game every week

Weddle was OK.

He misjudged the ball and dropped three of four marks in the conditions. Still looked untouchable when he went on runs.
Sounds like preservation mode

From what I saw a few weeks ago Box hill game plan moving the ball forward was way below average, I think I compared it to 1970’s style football. Has more of this been on show in the last few weeks?

Reality is we did enough to generate enough shots on goal to win. But we didn’t convert and they did.

But we were beaten up at the contest and lost one on ones a lot. Many long kicks into our F50 where we didn’t offer a contest - connection was poor.

Cody going off hurt us he at least had some toughness at the contest which was lacking elsewhere.

I thought Frost forward was a massive head scratcher and a costly move ultimately.

A lot of our guys had good moments. Thought Blanck was steady and some key marks but also that poor vision moment where he was caught HTB and then it nearly happened again later but the ball was called back to Ryan.

Ryan showed some real dash at times. But was beaten really poorly in a one on one marking contest scoreboard end. He’s developing but his floor hasn’t been set which appears an issue.

McKenzie can’t exert any physical influence. Not quick enough or strong enough at this point. Tagged and couldn’t work out of it. Good lesson.

Butsy is ok. Does enough to show he can go up a level. Can take the hits and hold tackles. Disposal lacks polish at times but plays the right style.

BMac doesn’t do enough.

Ramma developing well. Stood up in the 2nd. Like a lot of our listed players he goes missing for big patches of the game.

Weddle scratchy but noticed his big body out there compared to others was able to exert influence and hold tackles unlike a few others.

Hill well two incredible goals but that was it. Can’t wait to see him with a preseason.

Reeves has had a consistent season he tried hard but couldn’t crack Crossley.

Seamus just a game. Still fluffs too many kicks which goes against him.

Littlejohn didn’t give much at the on ground addresses other than ask us to be tougher at the contest and better with connection.

I thought early the way they were able to walk the ball thru our defence was a worrying sign and we didn’t fix it. Were poor defensively. Didn’t play with any flair or use the width of the ground.
