Doubt he finds a home, but you never know. Will be traded for an unused pick, or delisted and train on somewhere.

Would maybe be the 1st time Brad's got one over his brother.Surely Bombers will need his leadership if (when) Merrett asks for a trade? Seriously though, if he wants to continue his career he could be great depth at Hawthorn, and would be cheap as chips. Could also see Chris Scott utilising him well.

They are on track to not have one player over 29 years of age next yearSurely Bombers will need his leadership if (when) Merrett asks for a trade? I wonder if he might land at Hawthorn as a DFA now
What happened to him ? He had an amazing 2017 where he made all Australian.
He’s the blue chip cherry on top.His one way ability was hidden in a strong midfield. Exposed at Essendon.
Not a catastrophic trade for them. They basically gave up Miles Bergman for him. Caldwell was drafted with the other first rounder and plays for Essendon now anyway. Berg would be very handy for them now, but Shiel did contribute well for a few years at the Bombers.Jesus this bloke has been a bad trade for the bombers
but has been a great contract for Shiel
Not only did they trade for Shiel they then had to trade for the player selected goy selected with that pickNot a catastrophic trade for them. They basically gave up Miles Bergman for him. Really, he can’t kick and a poor decision makerHe’s the blue chip cherry on top.
I don’t want to derail the thread, but Essendon didn’t really give up much for Caldwell either: https://www.draftguru.com.au/trades/2020-jye-caldwellNot only did they trade for Shiel they then had to trade for the player selected goy selected with that pick
Both average players
