Here is my crack at a Top 10 mock draft, no bids included.

This could change pending a game from a certain player this weekend..

Good stuff Michaels. Given Twomey seems pretty solid that WC are taking Duursma and CDT that leaves us with Sharp? And do you reckon we will split a pick to get a couple more top 10 picks. Get our quicker ball movers there.

If we have enough picks then take Robey as a high risk, high reward type(?)

Larke medalist and National Championship captain ... but 15 possessions and a loss in the SANFL U18 Elimination final ... good footballer yes ... AFL A grader? ... this draft class is so weak ... he is more likely to be the next Jack Graham rather than the next Marcus Bont
I'm confused... who had 15 possessions and a loss in the SANFL u18s elim final?

Sharp.

In Sharp's defence there were some pretty big man children in that u18s elim ;)

Could you see him playing on the wing in the AFL?

Ranges put him in the midfield vs Jets (I think it was that game) in 2nd half, he was very good especially in last quarter.

Unfortunately for Xav, it would seem Sully is now being preferred in the middle (rightly given his output). But I think long term AFL teams would be hoping for a Will Day/Trent Rivers like development curve for Xavier. He’s tough as nails and super quick. Would love him at Tigerland (after Robey).

Dyl Alexander and the eagles guy have us taking CDT and Lindsay in their latest mock. Yucky

Yeah turned it off at that point. You haven’t watched the last month of Lindsay if you think he’s going top 5. Not to mention trying to say he’s a mid, he’s shown zero midfield nous all year.

He’s too easy to shut down if you sit someone on him stopping him getting easy around the back handballs.

Xavier or Le Grill?

Even if he was confused about U18s vs seniors... Sharp didn't have 15 disposals in that senior elim final either.
While you're here can we be annoying and ask for more Sulley vids...

Xavier or Le Grill?

Le Grille.

He has more runs on the board, has genuine midfield chops as opposed to Xavs theoretical ones. And Grlj breaks a game open with his running (even if it’s across field instead of straight at goal he changes defenders positions on the field constantly) like very few can, even in last years draft it’s hard to think of someone who breaks likes as easily and regularly as him.

Basically my order today for us is

Robey
Duursma
Grlj
Cumming
Xav
Oskar
Cdt
Bison

I think the gap between here is big though and I’m not for trading down to get into next group.

Dovaston
Barker
Farrow
Kondog
Lindsay
NHH
BOB

Sharp and Greeves would be before Grlj but I don’t think they suit us, though I don’t think it would be wrong to take them as they do have points of difference to our current group, I just think it gets to clogged up trying to get Lalor/Smil/Kane in behind TT/Hopper and than add on needing midfield time to develop sharp or Greeves.

Schubert before CDT but again not a need as he’s not a ruck, cdt at least is and is his best position with his ability around stoppage.

Poo might be higher than Grlj if I’d seen him play much (given the hype and athleticism) but I haven’t so hard to place.

You?

if you look at the Geelong model freak runners - Smith, Dempsey, Danger, Holmes etc....

Phillipou & Grilj are a must in that respect but will we have the balls to go all our runners....
Probably not unfortunately but if we can snare another pick or 2 in the first round then it is on.
Jack Dalton mark my words will be an AFL gun.

Why would RFC be more likely to take Cumming over Sharp??? I would but I am not in contact or have any influence on RFC and Sharp has the better CV.

If we are speculating, RFC probably takes Sharp over Cumming, why would they have the same reasoning I have??

I assume you do not want Cumming and prefer Sharp to RFC??
If i was wce I'd look at the big bodied mids richmond took last yr and the 2 they currently have now, if i thought richmond would want cumming i would think taking a risk on sharp dropping would more likely net me sharp and cumming an additional first rounder rather then just taking sharp and cumming at pick 1 and 2.
I don't want cumming btw, this is more just a strategic play that wce should probably play if they were keen on cumming and thought we were to as one or potentially both of greeves and sharp would likely fall to 5.

Yeah Grlj for me.

I've locked in my choice.
With the 3rd pick of the 2025 AFL draft. Richmond Select: Dyson Sharp
With the 4th pick of the 2025 AFL draft. Richmond select. Xavier Taylor

May as well close the thread now.
Thanks.
No Robey.

Sit down, have a think about your life choices and come back in an hour and try again 😁

Does the delisting of Bauer, Koschitzke, Blight and the possibility that Young is traded out, increase the likelihood that we select CDT? Plus, our lack of legitimate ruck options outside of the skipper and the proposed changes to the ruck rules. You can add to this argument about selecting CDT, that Lynch is a year to year proposition. I know nothing about this years draft, but from what I have read both CDT and Cumming’s do fill gaps on our list

if CDT is still at our pick, i reckon we will get some crazy offers and thats where a split pick could occur.

On my top 10 list Grlj is possibly a reach as he is a more specific need for us, so if we split a pick there is a good chance he is still there at one of the split picks plus you might get a Robey or Farrow type along with him.

I just struggle to see where CDT fits for us.

If Nank retires in 1-2 years, he wont be ready, nor will Sims. Will have to trade for a ruck if Ryan doesn't come on.

If Nank retires in 3-4 years, CDT would be ready, as would Sims, BUT where would we play CDT in the meantime? he has forward craft but we just drafted Armstrong, Faull, Sims, and have Lynch / Fawcett / Lefau in the mix too, so I'm just unsure how he works with our current list.

Luckily smarter people than me make that call though ha ha

An early look at a bottom ager who's become an important cog in the Ranges midfield machine through the second half of the season. Jordan Knapp is a balanced inside/outside midfielder, undersized but with some Jagga Smith like qualities in his ability to find the footy at stoppage and navigate traffic to extract it. He's excellent on the spread, has strong disposal skills to set up teammates and is capable of hitting the scoreboard himself.
