Their defence is outstanding, and their small forwards are more than nuisance value.
Therir ruck is very good.
They have power mids.

MOC or Mullin?

Mullin the usual go to for a Newcombe because Duke can't really impact forward, cancelling Mullins backline defensive issues. Newk has to stay in the middle and that's where we want Mullin.

I would say MOC to Weddle although he could get exposed in the air a bit so maybe Henry to Weddle? MOC to Ginnivan an option

It's a good observation too. I think plan A would involve tagging him regardless.

The thing concerning me is Meek against blitz or sdk. ROB had a bit of a mare i thought, tapping to Hawks advantage. But how much of that is just Meek pushing him to a position that forces it, and if that's the case what does blitz do?

Pretty sure dekoning and blitz gave meek a bath at KP last year

Their successes have often been at our expense.

Remember all Holmes needs is 30 cms to be uncatchable. One of the others can shepherd for that split second

Hawks also had a few sore looking boys, the only annoyance is they basically could rest guys last in the game for longer periods because Crom were a basketcase.

Meh. We had a week off after beating cellar dwellars in our last five games then came out breathing fire and putting the reigning Premier to the torch.

I like the rest of your post though. Gotta grudgingly respect how the Hawks go about it

Oh I meant they were resting Gunston, he wasn't one of the sore looking players.

People saying we might come out slow against the Hawks from the week off are not considering the Hawks might gas out because they have had to travel to the Gabba, then to NSW, then a short break and off to Adelaide.

Hardly an easy run for them.

Felt a bit pre-seasonish to me, and I mean that genuinely. I think I'd feel the same way if we won it.

I know it probably sounds weird, but there have been prelims that hurt more than losing that GF for me.

Maybe because we had so many more real world issues going on at the time, it helped put things in perspective a bit.

Does she have a theory as to why all modern "comedic" ads are so consistently cringe and unfunny? It's bizarre how it's a universal truism that applies to all ads. I genuinely don't get it. These are professional writers who presumably run their work past focus groups and have a logic behind why they choose certain lines over others. The advertising firms could easily hire professional comedians if they wanted. Yet the ads are never remotely amusing. I don't get it.

She is asleep. I think it's regression to the mean. Like modern music. It's shit but appeals to the focus groups therefore its ok.
