Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Sydney could use a key defender for next year. He's way too good for local footyHe might go back to Local/State Level Footy in 2026
Naicos Perryman Houston LongWho are we recruiting to replace Pendles Sidey Crisp and Titch in the midfield
Plus Josh likely to spend more time in there in the future and we'll add if necessary. It's actually the easiest area to fill in the short term - there's short term quality pros available every year - guys like Mitchell, Macrae in recent years - probalby Steele available this year.Naicos Perryman Houston Long
The core is there, the new with the old learning. Beau and Jordy go through there. Titch and WHE are gone. Maybe Checkers, Cox and Elliott. Like for like ain’t gonna happen but naicos is so good.

The golden generation have already passed their peak. It’s football and how it works. The club is doing so much right to be old and here. We were meant to be a terminal basket case in 2021. A FS and a rookie is a brilliant start. Right now a pace component is required, that is Beau. X factor is Jordy. I wanted Titch extended at the years start, I believe we are better there than I expected without him. Jack Steele could be great. The balance is important. And so is leadership. We have a young crew who may click. Hayes. Allan. De Mattia. McGuane. Bring it on. My pies are just so good.Yes that will paper over the cracks but who will join Nick and Ned in the midfield when the golden generation have departed ? Hope we can find a solution
Like Buller?IIRC, Cox doesn't mind being used as needed.
He plays when needed, he has height to bring the ball to the ground for the smalls to go to work, if the ruck duties go back to jumping, then he's good for that jumping ruck role and as the second ruck near and in finals.
Not playing every senior game will help his longevity until we find a good replacement.
One more year is a smart move. Who else has his height? No one, it's a weapon on its own, even just to take the biggest defender and free up our other fwds.
There's a few reasons for his inclusion in games.
Cox has an aggressive attitude when he wants and having his parents watching in finals, well, that just speaks for itself.
I have no qualms with Brody securing more money, his body is banged up and as others have said, he started late and is looking to secure his future. He's done us proud and been an absolute workhorse.
How many list positions do you want Collingwood to have?I was starting to think I was the only one. He's a good defender who can go forward. He has steadily improved every year. I think his best is still ahead of him
Geelong ain’t a small paddock. According to Bailey anyway, He got away from Footscray and Ballarat for the really big smoke. And other pleasures.I can see Stevie punching on with Bailey in the first training session. 2 absolute stud flog bulls in a small paddock
God we can’t take their only remaining slither of hope can we?FWIW my son interviewed Jagga Smith the morning and came away very impressed. Collingwood supporter.........hopefully on our radar![]()
He's still contracted to the dees. So they either pay him out, or he goes back to the dees if there are no suitorsHe might go back to Local/State Level Footy in 2026
His father was a pies player, just never played a senior game.FWIW my son interviewed Jagga Smith the morning and came away very impressed. Collingwood supporter.........hopefully on our radar![]()
Just play SmithyOur 2027 NGA Eli is dating Jagga's sister, Summa.
It'll all click into place![]()
I was about to ask that question. Thanks Jen.He's still contracted to the dees. So they either pay him out, or he goes back to the dees if there are no suitors
The one I think that’s slipping under the radar in this conversation is Roan Steele.Naicos Perryman Houston Long

My list is liquid, I want them allHow many list positions do you want Collingwood to have?
The long runners Lippa and Steele. When thinking about replacing Sidey I think of Steele because of run and two sided. Wouldn’t Long and Steele stepping up from rookies in one year be huge. The one I think that’s slipping under the radar in this conversation is Roan Steele.
You don’t come in mid season and make a Prelim Final side if the club doesn’t rate you.
I think he might play a lot next season
Sounds like Dan Murphy time.My list is liquid, I want them all
Agree - we need cover because as much as we like West and Howes, neither are likely to withstand the rigours of a full season in the AFL.Could be a number of reasons, Cox and Checkers could be going, one or the other might be, i don't think West and Howes will get regular games in the seniors. At the moment all our tall forwards are old, potentially we will have West and Howes (19), Buller (24), Mcstay (30), Membrey (31) and maybe Cox (34), Checkers (32) and McCarthy (18).
So ideally we should keep one of either Cox or Checkers and draft McCarthy, so we'll have a good mix of young and older tall forwards.
We’ve got McCrae readyWho are we recruiting to replace Pendles Sidey Crisp and Titch in the midfield
but don’t tell Sco.My list is liquid, I want them all
Would suit him. He can have as many punch ons as he wants. He might go back to Local/State Level Footy in 2026
His immaturity aside.I’ve been not so secretly wanting Stephenson back for ages lol
Pretty sure I’ve posted about it last year
I still have belief that he can be what we hoped he’d be back in 18/19. 25 now, so should have a better head on his shoulders and surely would have learned a bunch of lessons over his time.
His absence and subsequent desire to return to the point of taking it upon himself to approach clubs directly would indicate dedication and application won’t be an issue either
