Unfortunately they look harder at certain clubs.
It’s not an even playing field.
To paint one or two entities pure and the rest corrupt isn’t right.
My brother was on a very popular tv show that covered football, but not directly controlled by the afl.
They threatened the show with certain circumstances if they didn’t pull back on popular opinions of that period regarding governance of the game

One of the most vocal was Andy Krakouer (R.I.P) on Yokai and he openly discussed issues thst the AFL didnt act fast enough on. He even had the courage to call out the stuff which happened during his time at Collingwood which was publicised on the media too.

But yeah the AFL could do a lot better on a number of issues.

It’s why i get pissed off hearing todays media toeing the line
Not to even question where the Geelong boy is all year is just wrong
A listed player disappeared?
Wtf!

The media probably cant mention/call out a player before it goes through the courts.

True
However every other club has to wear some sort of accountability for their players
A statement should have been made that he isn’t available or perhaps he should have been delisted immediately?

Delisted based on what? There are still industrial laws/agreements/awards that AFL clubs need to follow. Delisting a player based on a matter that wasnt/isnt before the courts.....the player could turn around and take the club to court for unfair dismissal.

It wasn’t just racism though
The whole industry is a very dangerous space.
The percentage of useful tools to the afl are very low - $ wise
The rest are fodder
Image is everything

But it is before the courts, hence the suppression order.
Bringing the game into disrepute is always a fallback

They have their issues like all clubs. The one thing that seems really obvious about Geelong is they get incredibly soft treatment from the media. I guess that’s what happens when 3/4 of the press suite barrack for you.

It probably makes the club more willing to take risks as they know they’re not gonna cop it in on the front page.

Since when? I’m all for tearing up his contract if he’s done something but if someone gets falsely accused of something, for example, you think that what, a club should just be able to fire them because of it?

Wake up to yourself and cut the bullshit

You want to cause a mistrial? You want reporters to be held in contempt of court?

Grow up.

If the AFL has proven itself guiltily of looking the other way on serious moral failings in favour of a culture of silence and suppression then a fair question emerges. Who is driving that culture?

Running a fair, upstanding competition is the portrayed image, but only an image. The silence and suppression points to a culture of compromise and potential powerful, partial interests.

It’s known he is in deep trouble but you keep playing the club card.
Take the blinkers off

But is the matter before the courts? If yes then was a decision handed down? If no decision then the club can't delist the player. As I said there are industrial laws involved. I would assume the club is waiting for the matter to be dealt with by the courts - then a decision by the clinical can be made.

It is known that he is currently before the courts and they are taking care of it and as a consequence he has not played a game of football all season. And when the law, which had quite a good deal more pull than a f**king bunch of blokes kicking a ball around a field, has finished dealing with it, the club can make a decision.

F**king grow up.

Do something
Gfc are in for a hell of a time when the suppression is lifted.
They listed him injured for 10 weeks as if nothing happened
Even if innocent, the current environment calls for women to be heard

Are we?

Oh no, more Facebook comments of people going ‘how is ******’s finger injury.’

How the f**k will we cope.

Nah good point

All the gfc supporters keep getting personal
Calling me names or becoming aggressive.
No one has addressed my initial points as a whole though
Countered those specific issues with logic or debate

Why would anyone bother? You're clearly incapable of absorbing information.

You haven’t used any logic. Why would anyone engage you with any. You’ve created a thread based on a team winning a football match and clearly you didn’t like it so you’ve decided to bring up issues that have no relevance to football including a court case that even the club itself is forbidden to talk about legally. Why the f**k should anyone pay your opinion or your posts any respect.

I raised this because the media keeps telling us the gfc and a few other clubs are beyond reproach yet the rest are despicable
However the gfc are there on the pedestal we are told
I have presented actual facts, usually associated with logic
It’s listed there for you to disseminate and counter

No you didn’t. You raised it because GfC are in the grand final and you don’t like it. Otherwise you’d have done it long ago. You haven’t presented anything other than the fact that you didn’t like the outcome of a football game and want to moan about it like a five year old.
