He had a few good years here.

Not going to lose sleep that we delisted him, his best days were behind him.

JJ as well. I think we will delist them all, but we may re draft JJ and Baker I think.

Perfect fit to go home to. Problem is you can't even come close to earning a living playing VFL. VFL needs a much bigger salary cap IMO

Agree. They are trying their best to forge a career and be the best players they can be. If they don't turn out to be stars it won't be for want of trying.

And as far as we know, they are 100% committed to the club. Unlike some better known names who have featured in plenty of discussion over recent days.

Coffield would be sweating bullets. He wasn't good in the GF and we have added Sellwood and Walker plus whatever else Sammy can land. Will become clearer after trade period IMO

Coffield would be ok as cheap depth, but Poulter is one of the biggest tweener players in history. Too good for VFL, not good enough for AFL.

Would rather free up a spot for another draftee as I can’t see him any more than a pretty typical role player

With Scott, Jones and Duryea already gone it really will come down to trades. Buku a likely trade out. I would think Poulter and Coffield are more likely outs than Baker with JJ also waiting.

That is anything between 4 to 8 outs and I can't see us taking more than 3 picks to the main draft

I can see 2 in the main draft with JOD upgraded for the 3rd.

Re Jones, there’s obviously Lobb, JOD and Buss, and Croft plays both ends too.

Gardy isn’t great but he was in the VFL team of the year. He looks fine when we’re on top in the middle and could plug holes for a few games if there are injuries, and he’s contracted anyway.

Jones was great for two years but athletically he’s cooked. If we’re turning to him we’re in deep trouble.

And absolutely none of them have shown significant age-related decline as a player or are expected to next year.

If Jones had retired instead of been delisted, would anyone here be saying "he still will have something to offer at AFL level next year"? Very much doubt it.

I expect if a team misses out on a player like North Melbourne they might consider him as a DFA. Laverde was also delisted and GWS was looking at them.
