Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Any word of the Brownlow punch on?

A player and former player apparently.

Hope none of ours were involved.
Someone will be made the escape goat for this..

These footy award nights are always a bit loose… I heard a story about Gerard Whateley throwing hands and eventually dropping Tom Barrass, then he had Weddle in a headlock on the floor. Whole party had to step in before he let go.

Mobile phone footage of the incident is doing the rounds

The only fight he'd possibly win is a tickle fight.

D’Orazio has done what he needs to do - used the media to put pressure on the clubs involved to get a deal done. Which ultimately helps us. He would be using Geelong and Collingwood to put pressure on Sydney and Gold Coast to overpay for Charlie to get him out of Carlton. Unfortunately, if it doesn’t work, he will look like a complete idiot and it could ruin Charlie’s career

For the people disagreeing with this...

If you want to hold Charlie to a certain standard about "being committed", then it is only fair to do the same to every single player on our list. Especially those who don't seem to buy into the message of driven success.

Going by on field body language and second efforts, Harry is streets ahead of Curnow on drive, just doesn't have the same freakish talent, instead works at improvement.

Did anyone see the tik tok Sam walsh just posted on the Carlton tik tok?

Tour of Chelsea soccer club with frnak the tank, Fogarty, cow, cotters in tow

But I could have sworn there was paddy Dow and an Adam cerra look a like were there too

Paddy come back?

They were at octoberfest in Munich with dow, Errol gulden and Tom McCartin from the swans.

Haven't seen tiktok but I did see Walsh looking huge in some of those pics.

Edit

Cerra is there too so the look alike is probably Cerra?

What these player managers and media types who make a living feeding off them (especially McClure, morris, beveridge and most of the other bottom feeders whose sources are all clearly these scum of the earth player agents) fail to realise is this is not the NBA or European football where clubs can trade or sell a player much much easier than they can here. Players have to agree to be traded as part of a deal, clubs have to want to deal … much less chance of these big trades happening compared to the rest of the world.
I do think its time the AFL started to open up the trading system. Their argument that they are trying to keep the competition even doesn't fly. I've stated elsewhere, they have to allow for living away from home allowances outside the cap to cover the costs of moving. Allow clubs to trade without player consent, shift power back to the clubs and away from player agents.

It is pretty clear that if you get stuck in the bottom quartile, the draft will not get you out, more levers are required.

With the reports Suns want a 1st round pick for him and that he is moving for more midfield time personally I'd probably be happier if we missed out on him.

If we sold him on playing as a high HF that got some midfield time I'd be more interested.

Kennedy at pick #28, i.e. 2nd round, looks the proxy.

I think people need to seriously temper their expectations on what we'll get back for Charlie. And the talk of letting him rot in the twos is absolute idiocy and I'm glad some of you don't run the club.

No, but he has to be available to the selectors axe, if he is not prepared to buy in. All of them have to be. We allowed far too much in 2025. Some should have been axed, and some others should have been axed sooner that they were. Way too much faith shown by Voss, in the group that got us close in 2023.

D'Orazio's telegraghing via the media will end up as a case study in player mismanagement by over-playing his negotiating position
C’mon now!

He’s no different to any of the other player manager. D’Orazio & Connor sports are just doing their jobs as advised by their client (Curnow)

How many other player managers have made the level of mistake that he did last year, and then get publicly sacked?
And he seems to be doubling down.

Didnt Dan Houston also just leave the Connors Group?

Yeah, I don't know. If the plan is to create a rift between Charlie, the club and supporters, so that his position becomes untenable, he's doing a great job.

It is now working against him, as it appears that Carlton have to accept far less than they'd like to trade a player who appears to be disrespecting us.

I'm not sure that Charlie wants all of this bad blood. I'm sure that he has a concrete offer from a couple of clubs who are prepared to screw us over, but a good manager would have an idea of the sort of currency on offer. I wonder what bullshit he has fed Charlie in order to keep the narrative going in the media.

The media aren't to blame for this one. They maintained all along this was happening, while Charlie said he was staying.

You’re all, just offended, because it’s Charlie and Carlton.

Player managers are all the same, use the same tactics, and the players would be fully aware of the game plan to get them what they want.

Charlie, his management and the club have all said publicly that Charlie is staying at Carlton.

They can’t control what the media spruik, to sell papers and get views.

Don’t be stupid. They are not ‘all the same’.
They don’t make the mistakes that he made with Petracca, which was much worse than what’s happening with Charlie.

It’s just that he hasn’t learned from that mistake.

Well his manager did say he would play for less not to play for Carlton.

We can reduce his salary, play him in the VFL and not make a competitor better. Win win. Everyone is happy.
