Unbelievably stupid by Vettel no doubt about it and yes lack of experience played a massive part. As I said in the other thread thats probably the biggest shot Mark will EVER have at winning a GP and he will have deserved it. Ah well lets hope it rains in China next round.

Both were lucky to be in 2nd and 3rd at that stage of the race but they were quick and stayed out of trouble. itv-f1 have put up their "Driver of the Day" voting and for some reason Webber doesnt feature:confused:

Give the guy a break. When was the last time he drove an F1 car in those conditions? never. I feel sorry for both of them, he was in tears.

I agree. It was a stupid mistake by Vettel, one I am sure he will never make again. Got caught out by Mark and Lewis warming their brakes... probably too self absorbed with his own car and not paying enough attention to those in front.

Feel very sorry for Mark, he had a fair dinkum crack at winning this race. On the other hand dropping the f-bomb was totally unprofessional and unacceptable.

What exactly did Webber say? I was so surprised with the F bomb that I didnt pick up what he said after it

Mark isnt the kind of guy who usually does that so that says a lot about how he felt and what he thought his chances were. I have no doubt he will apologise for his words but it still wasnt a great thing to say.

You can't blame Webber for that.If ITV want to get an interview with a peeved driver walking back to his pits then they have to expect those type of things.Maybe they should've waited for a few minutes to speak to him.

I think Martin or James might've had a point when they mentioned that Hamilton may've played a part in the incident. On an earlier restart or safety car period he almost stopped. In fact I think Alonso briefly passed him and Webber overtook Button because of Hamilton stopping.Perhaps on restarts and safety car periods there should be a mininum speed.

Please. If he took out anyone else you wouldn't be caring at all, but because he takes out "Aussie" Mark he's all of a sudden a hack, despite the fact his efforts in that race prior to the accident are anything than those of a hack.

Webber has had his fare share of brain freezes as well. It's not as if Vettel is the fist person to ever make a mistake in motorpsort.

Webber dropping the f bomb, was not ideal. But F1 has become way too conservative and squeaky clean, as far as I am concerned. Just look at Lewis Hamilton, he just epitomises 'clean cut'. You need someone like Webber, who does not give a four XXXX, about being politically correct to ruffle a few feathers. Cameron McConville noted that this crash could be attributed to Hamilton bunching the field up too tightly whilst leading behind the safety car. Webber has plainly admitted that he does not like Hamilton, F1's 'Mr Conservative', and we know the feeling is mutual. Hamilton took a swipe at his driving during qualifying for this year's Monaco GP. I think the real villian here is Lewis Hamilton!

There was some luck but not all that much.

He started 7th. He passed Vettel and would could have jumped Alonso without him spinning with the time he was making on them after Vettel had pitted.

Ferrari failed massively when they started on Intermediates when the Race Director had said if the race starts under SC you must be on Full Wets. They pitted before they received the black or black/orange flag.

It was a great race for him, 3rd fastest car on the road, and Vettel (4th fastest) goes and ruins it.

You can't blame Webber for that.

Yes you can. ITV interview drivers all the time that have just been taken out of the race for various reasons, and I certainly can't remember anyone swearing like that. Webber has been around long enough that he should be able to control himself when a microphone is put in front of him.

The words came out of his mouth. Regardless of what happened previously you can't just completely remove the blame from him.

Although I do think ITV should've known better. Like someone said, Webber isn't exactly "mr. squeaky clean", so interviewing him then should probably not have happened. But that doesn't mean Webber should have all the blame completely removed from him. Actually as soon as she said she had Webber I had a feeling a naughty word or two was about to be spoken.

Agree, Mark should have walked past Louise and commented once he had calmed down a little. What he did was unprofessional and very self indulgent.

Don't blame him for being furious at what happened, but I think even he will admit that he was wrong and will apologise later on.

Vettel is a very talented young driver that made a very stupid mistake... pity clueless bogons feel the need to villify him because he took out an Aussie.

lol, I know.

Vettel f**ked up in the wet. Every driver makes a mistake in the wet, look at how many times Raikkonen went off today. Webber just had the ill fortune to get hit by someone making a mistake in the wet. Get over it bogans, it happens all the time.

THAT doesnt happen all the time, but yeah I do agree everyone makes mistakes and well done to the kid for owning up, I mean he couldve won himself today and he was devastated. But to call people bogans DB, I thought you were above that. Gee if Vettel did that to Lewis imagine the garbage coming outta Allen and Brundle, it was bad enough when he did get tagged today.

JPM did it to MS in the dry at Monaco.. which is much worse. The poor guy was in tears.

Someone did it to JPM in Brazil in his debut year as well I believe. A backmarker trying to unlap himself??

Webber had a real shot at this victory today, and although I disappointed that he was taken out, I can understand how hard it would be to drive in those conditions. I effing hate driving in wet weather with windscreen wipers at 80km/h! Let alone at 120km/h (or whatever they do behind the safety car) with no windscreen in a car that just isnt made to be driven that slow! :)

When they were showing the camera vision at 1 stage I thought to myself "Holy flurking schmidt you cant see 2 metres in front of the car". The thing about the whole incident was not the speed at which they were going, its the speed that Hamilton and Webber slowed down. To say the kid is inexperienced is a tiny cop out I mean I bet hes driven in the rain before. Granted maybe not in an F1 car but still he should know better, and I do think he knows that, given his emotions after the race.
