Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

To achieve what we are saying here, I feel we may need to trade our 2027 1st rounder as well.
Someone mentioned it previously, but one option next year is to trade our 2027 F1 to Essendon for their 2026 F1.

That would give us two first rounders for Cody next year and two first rounders to Essendon for Bewick in 2027.

This would be mutually beneficial and deal with early round 1 bids on both kids.

I've been following this thread for obvious reasons and noting the speculation as to why Curnow wants out.

Could it be as simple as the question I posed on the Swans Board?
Why does Cunrow want out of Carlton?
I've seen his relationship with Voss is poor, that he wants out of the Melbourne bubble, but I've also read (on the Carlton BF board) that he is on a front ended contact.
Is this primarily all about Curnow getting more dollars?
No supporter (new or old club) wants to hear a player is simply moving for more money and so using the lifestyle excuse (even though it may have a degree of merit) is the lesser evil.

People won't want to hear it, but I think we could bend on the whole A-Grader thing.

I could see us doing the deal with Sydney for Pick 9, F1 and Hayward for example. He is a good player so the club can argue they haven't backed down on the A-Grader thing even though most wouldn't put him in that category. Can then use the picks along with our compo to get a top 5 pick ahead of Dean bid, points for Dean + Ison, another 1st next year which we'll need for Walker and to grab all the other guys we are targeting which will improve our depth.

I can't see us holding Curnow if we get a good offer. It's all theatre. He's 29 with a history of knee issues. His attitude is garbage. He wants out. And with the likely bid matching changes we probably don't get Walker if we can't get an F1. Still a possibly by trading 9 if we don't trade Curnow but then it becomes real tough to match Dean/Ison bids and get the other players we are targeting.

So, we trade out Curnow. Get a top draft talent to develop alongside Dean and Ison. Hayward who is a really good player. An F1 for Walker and a bunch of other guys who while not exciting can play roles in our team. I could live with that.

Pick 10 and 11 though ....

:p

Yep, that could def get us a pick before the Stains. I just don't see * bidding on Dean and if Stains trade #7 to GC, then we'll be right even with the TDK pick I think because I can't see the Hawks wanting him either.

But... and I'll say it again... I'd MUCH prefer if we package 10 + 11 for another F1... At least ask North or Melbourne the question...

Also, indeed Bailey Smith is a knob, but I think Charlie shares similar immaturity, hence why they're buddy buddy.

He'd be begging the kitties find the means to get him there I reckon.

FWIW I agree with you. 2 first rounders and an A Lister for a disgruntled key forward, late 20s and coming off a shit year ... nah. Charlie has done us no favours here in terms of value. His value can only go down going forward. We have to trade him.

Apart from a gift from Sydney in 2022, they've been pretenders rather than contenders for over a decade.

Might be time for them to re-think the strategy. Rhys Stanley is part of the problem.

Last time they were a genuinely good side was with Brad Ottens.
They come home from the Football happier than any other team by a long margin.

This should be the 1st trade done.

Make it VERY clear that out F/S cost 2 1st round picks.
Nobody is going to trade 2026 1sts for 2027 1sts in a Tassie compromised draft. Even Essendon who will need points.

They will get much better offers then a single 2027 1st from us if they want to trade their 2026 first, which will be presumably high. Could probably get a 2027 1st just by downgrading their pick 2026 4-6 spots.

Fitness staff mishandling his injuries. Wright coming in and letting the players know the gravy train is over. I just don't see what Voss could have done considering how easy he has been on Charlie, even when his standards dropped.

The last one is the fans. We called out a lot of conditional stuff last season.
This all sounds plausible

Two reworked tunes released for the 2025 trade period:

Just to add, Charlie has opened a new spa in Ocean Grove so I would suspect he's keen to be closer to it daily/weekly.

Edit. Torquay*

If this is one of his problems he can **** right off...

DUI before the draft, we still gave him the chance. Then he did his knee playing basketball and slipping on the stairs... club stuck by him, offered him a mega deal. Then he declared himself fit for the ef last year... Vossy still put his health first and didn't play him.

Now we're mishandling him?

I reckon he's got the shits we let TDK walk, he can see the trajectory in terms of team performance (although could argue he's big contributor to that) and wants out. Plus manager probably got in his ear about earning more $. I don't for 1 second believe the "get out of Melbourne bubble" crap.

I'm glad this is happening though, I always wanted us to trade one of the millionaire club players and put it toward the future.
