Official Match Thread Season 40, Round 9 - Wonders FFC vs Gumbies FFC at The Colosseum

This, right now? It’s Season 40. And to celebrate all things 40, let’s take a look at some careers of those who played 40 (OR SO) games for these two great clubs (my two FAVOURITE clubs, incidentally).


Wonders FFC

At time of writing, old mates Rubber Arm and Giant YoYo have played 40 games for the club (but perhaps not at time of thread publication!). Rubber Arm actually started at the Demons (as all good careers do) in Season 27, before taking a break and being signed by the Wonders in Season 38, some 11 seasons later. Giant YoYo has only ever played for the Wonders, debuting in Season 38. Wow!

Gumbies FFC

And then we have the Gumbies. Again, we have two examples: Covvy, and rota69. The former had a short but sweet career across Seasons 15-17, including the Season 16 premiership. The latter is an example of a very interesting career. rota69 debuted for the now-defunct Dragons (not Dragons FFC), before playing for the Koalas, Gumbies, Furies, Demons, Gumbies again, Furies again, and then the Dragons FFC. Cool!

Sitting that close makes the whole experience that much more intense than when sitting a dozen rows back on the top deck

What was it like being the ball boy?

For all the goals that Brisbane kicked in the last, not one came close to that section of the bay

Closest we got to the ball was the first quarter with a behind and Zorko cracking the shits the ball boy sitting basically in front of me didn't give him the ball quick enough

That area was classed as "Level 1 Goals" and priced at $490

Then add in that I have a premiership membership for guaranteed access via the ballot for $210, and it's a hefty little price

That's pretty accurate for me at the moment

In desperate need for a haircut but waiting until middle of next month for an appointment, then I've got about a week to submit my passport renewal form since it expires early November & it's easier to renew then apply from scratch

And considering it's a 10yr thing, I want half decent hair in the photo - unlike my drivers licence, which even though I've renewed for my second 10yr licence is still using my photo from when I got my Ps because the last renewal was during covid so I only had to pay for it and not update what was a 13yr old photo at the time

If the dogs ever make it again I would probably drop a grand or so on some random corporate package on sale to make sure im there.

Just be prepared to drop that money in June/July - the North Melbourne GF breakfast packages with GF tickets were sold out by August

We then had fun on our board last week dealing with a number of Collingwood supporters trying to sell crazy price corporate packages ($2000+ in some cases) that they had bought a few months ago and no longer had a need for
