What a crock that would be to give up 2 first rounders for a player who is elite junior who has never played an afl game yet . 1 maybe first round bur 2 give me a spell

It's not exactly giving up 2 first rounders.

It depends how many points our combined firsts is worth vs the position we have to match the bid.

Let's say it's pick #3, after applying the 10% discount = 1960 points.

If we have pick #7 + #10 = 2819 points.

2819 - 1960 = 859 points = #18

So basically, pick #7 gets chewed up and that pick #10 will get pushed back giving us pick #18.

It's still bs though.

Hasn't there been talk of the 10% discount being removed next year? I hope not.

We literally did that last year for Jagga Smith.
We used pick 3 to draft Smith. We traded 2 picks in the teens for pick 3. Having to use 2 first round picks to match a bid for Cody isn’t the same thing.

**** it, just tank and let the AFL know why it was done.
We’re playing the youth and we’ll see how it goes. Also, your impulsive rule changes made it too hard to enable us to rightfully draft our F/S nominee if we were too successful without getting bent over in the process.

I think Kouta snr. is about 191 cms.
Jamie is about 194cm… Lukas is taller than Jamie was at the same age. A couple of years ago, people on here were potting Lukas because he was a chubby kid. Never said he’d amount to much because he didn’t have an athletic bone in his body. Fast forward to this year. He’s had his first major growth spurt, he’s lost all the baby fat. He’s 190 or 191cm already and he’s still growing. He picked up the club and league B&F.

I remember years ago a bunch of us were talking about his potential height based off his hands. The consensus was about 200cm. A potential ruck/forward type. I’m hoping that Kouta starts training him for that role. It’s interesting that both Cody and Lukas have their fathers taking a role in their development.

You mean, strategically finish last :D

He might
And he’s good
But Dougie Cochrane looks like the best in the draft still
Which is good for us
Did AFL decide on his Port Adelaide status yet ?
Dougie probably presents the most upside or talent in the draft... But I would just warn those getting excited about him to remember he's a 195cm skinny utility with no set position.

He seems to be able to play anywhere but that also likely comes with a lack of set position for the year which always effects your performances.

I think by the end of the year Cody will be ahead in rankings simply due to having a fixed position as an inside mid and Dougie will be more likely to slip despite being a genuinely freakish talent.
