Yes, I've noticed when players are mentioned in potential trades to Collingwood, oppo supporters don't hesitate to nominate Daicos as the trade off ah, so you want him now?

My opinion, there’s too much panic going on here.
No way does the club let Jamie walk, anything around $750k for two years is a fair deal and I think the club will stump up, if we get him for less we’ve done well.
I don’t like a third year on big money but front end it and have triggers for a third on about 400-500k.
Guaranteed that the accounts department at the club will be overtime, and players may have money back ended to compensate, it’s actually pretty common in and around clubs.
The most important thing is though Elliott deserves a decent deal and not even the club can question it.
So the most marketable player on the list, in the leadership group, finals star, leading goal kicker, and much more, is just going to walk out?

Well that’s not saying much, there are many players that would be moved for the right price…he has some family issues as has been reported, so not outlandish to think he could move. Do we want to keep him distracted and unavailable as he was this season. I think not.

Every development has said he wants to stay. If he's not offered something outrageous by the Suns then that's what probably happens. Not much we can do if they come with a big offer, we can't afford to significantly overpay.

I actually agree with most of what you say. Where we disagree is I haven’t seen any evidence to suggest his indigenous background is linked in any way to his off-field issues. That’s why the suggestion to take a risk on JUH based on the assumption that indigenous support and better mentors - that Collingwood will somehow be better at providing than the Bulldogs - will help him overcome his off-field issues is absolutely bonkers. Regardless it’s good to hear Collingwood apparently has no interest in this nut case.
