Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Nothing more certain than Geelong picking up Oliver for a fourth rounder and only having to pay half his salary, for him to then turn around and become an A grader again.

I will say though... that club is taking on a lot of risk with DHs. That cup is already overflowing. I will take some joy when it bursts.

Going by Bowes trade they will pick up an early first rounder as well….

Ive always liked Burton. He was good with the Hawks, not sure they ever nailed his role at Port.

I think he's more a Houston type half back that they tried to play more as a 2nd/3rd tall type. He's that size but his skillset is weighted nicely to an attacking role imo.

That club is going to be a powderkeg with Bailey, Oliver and Stengle alone. Throw in Tanner Bruhn and you'll find the biggest group of DHs a club has ever had.

Big challenge for their culture and to the AFL's patience/relationship with the club.

I'd be asking the question of Melb. If they want to pay his salary $700k a year over four years then I'd offer up the SOS compo (20) and 45. If they want his salary off the books, offer a future fourth, or offer pick 10 for Oliver and Melb F1 2026.

Get creative. A player of his calibre on the cheap shouldn't be scoffed at, regardless of the make-up of our list.

Clarko pushed him out because he thought he was soft. Fell out of favour at Port for the same reason. Pass.
