Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Do you think he isn’t coaching for his future next year?

I think it all depends on what happens this off-season.

If we build out the middle of our list with serviceable players/depth, what's the expectation on where we can finish next year? Pushing for finals? 7-8th at best probably?

So if he achieves a 7-10th finish in a transitional year, do you then give him a one year extension plus a genuine war chest of picks and salary cap (if Charlie leaves) to go bang and really give it a red, hot crack?

If we sign a Butters-type while losing Charlie in this off-season, then yeah you'd expect at least a top 6 finish home elim final with the aspiration of top 4.

Voss is 100% coaching for his future. It's him long term, or it's someone else. No inbetween or 1 year extensions. He has some runs on the board from 2023 Finals series but next year is make or break time.

We know the Crom and Blues love a good pick swap. ;)

Just floating this in good faith:

16, 42 and a F1 for 10, 45 and F2.

Means you move back but still have the pick for a Dean match. Upgrades 45 to 42. And gets you an extra first rounder to help with Walker next year.

Let’s assume you finish the same spot next year, so you would have pick 8. How high would the other first rounder (in this case ours) have to be?
Not an awful suggestion.

Carlton has told Ryan Burton that they won’t be considering him. 🔒

Yeah I would do that I think. To answer your last question, we will let you know once the AFL in their infinite wisdom deigns to tell us how the system will work next year. But Pick 2 is 2481 points as it currently stands, Pick 8 + Pick 13 is 2523 so I think it'd have to be something like that.

When do these clowns announce the changes to the father son rules? Surely they won't wait until after trade period.

8 + 19 with 10% discount I expect to still be there

Pick 2 - pick 8 -> 2481 - 1443 = 1038 = pick 13 required (assuming they scrap the discount)

If they don't scrap the discount, then we need to match 2233.

Minus 1443 from pick 8 = 790 = pick 19 required.

We also might have to factor any b1 FA compo picks (or bs AFL assistance packages) that might push these picks back a spot or two as well...

I was about to watch some Ryan Burton highlights since I first heard of our interest in him half an hour ago.

Interesting, cheers.

Mind you, if you end up trading Charlie to Sydney I’m sure you’ll have more than enough collateral anyway to trade ahead of a Dean bid.

we’ve achieved finals off the back of about 12 months of consistent footy over 4 years (2nd half of 23-1st half of 24).

For the rest of the 3 years we’ve been wildly inconsistent/have underperformed
We probably had the biggest total injury list over that 4 year period.
