Yes you can trade. Its why the report about West Coast giving their free end of first round to the Lions is gross. Essentially gifting the Lions a first round pick rather than just protecting their compo.

Flanders a big no and lets not waste our time on him, losing (or pushing him out ) Bobby to get Humphries is a negative in anyway you look at it, NET gain is zero, so would rather keep Bobby and deal another way, I don't have a hard on for this guy like some others do though.

I'd be curious if a first round pick and Degoey would get close? They are very similar players at different ends. Jordy's got plenty of good football left in him if we can get his body right. I'd be more reluctant to lose hill than Jordy.

Jordy not going anywhere, he has a new farm and a baby on the way, no way he'd be moving to GC.
He seems to be happy as a pig in mud these days.

You'd be turning a couple of speculative teen picks into a young sure thing with star potential.

Definitely worth our two future firsts if the AFL allow it.

Is he more impactful than what the stats show?

Playing predominantly as a pressure small forward with an occasional midfield rotation. Can only assume he’s looking for more mid time if Trac arriving has triggered this potential move.

It also doesn’t sit right with me team building wise. You’d bring in Humphrey to replace most of De Goey’s midfield minutes so that he can play forward and ideally extend his career / play more games in the season

His finals ability, suns wouldnt care less about his regulaer season form. The driving factor is his ability in finals. He is perfect for them but unfortunately we need to do everything we can to get young guns in.

The suns are the only team I could see interested in De Goey.

Sounds like you and I are on the same page with this. A key difference between Clarry and Beamer is that Melbourne wouldnt walk away with pick 18 and a future first for Oliver.

The other thing I've been considering is that some of Clarry's issues are less than clear for those of us on the outside, so we're left to speculate to some degree. The club will have access to more info than we will and we won't have a rogue President pushing through a deal as Eddie apparently did with Beamer. So I'm comfortable enough in trusting our recruitment team and coach to make the call here.
