Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I don’t think any of the clubs you mentioned will get him
Yes, because another top 6 club will get Humphrey.(like Allen, Draper, Petracca etc. etc.)
And this will continue to happen until the league introduces equalisation restrictions.

Some Sydney fans reckon with GC and supposedly Geelong out of the race, it weakens our bargaining power on Curnow. Now they’re saying pick 9 and Florent would be enough. Honestly, I’ve heard it all—he’s contracted, and we’re under no pressure to take an unders deal.

Exactly with 4 years left on his contract we have the option of very heavy Vendor Bidding. ;)

Sydney forward Will Hayward says he’d be open to being part of a trade to Carlton for Charlie Curnow, but he’d prefer to remain at the Swans.

Hayward told Code Sports he “definitely wouldn’t request a trade” but is prepared for a call from his manager in the event that Sydney “wanted to get rid of me”.
“You don’t want to be somewhere where you’re not wanted,” Hayward said.

“There are not many other clubs that I’d want to play for. I obviously spoke with Carlton last year, I really like Vossy.
“But the club hasn’t asked me, so as far as I’m concerned, I’ll still be here next year, hopefully playing with Charlie.”

I would suggest that the main crux of a deal between Melb and the Suns is agreed to. A contracted star player in Trac wouldn't nominate one club if there wasn't guarantee that a deal was done. This news happens to fall on the same day where we are told of the seriousness of Humphrey looking elsewhere. It's pretty obvious what is happening here...

This! Deal is agreed between the two teams.

Khamis third rounder, not even getting a game, Chesser 2nd rounder this year or probably next Reidy 4th or 5th
Our 2nd rounder is currently pick 38, our 3rd is pick 46.

Reidy trade may just as easy as Reidy, pick 49 and 67 for Carlton's pick 46 and 64.

Pick 49 goes to WBD for Khamis, although they may ask for more.

Chesser may be a bit more 'problematic', but I'd imagine future pick swaps could get the deal done fairly easily if it's not part of some mega trade.

Maybe. But why would Humphrey want to leave a team who played finals and is on the rise for a team going full scorched earth rebuild losing Trac, Oliver, May, McVee etc? We would be a more attractive destination than the Dees. Albeit, I think he stays at GC. Think with JUH likely making his way to GC they're more likely to release one of their forwards.

Ethan Phillips training at club. Hope they pick him up. Good Silvagni replacement
Cheers Soapy, reckon he'd be a good option.....was the general down back for our VFL side all year.

Also, given he's a delisted free agent for life, I assume we can sign him anytime without him having to nominate for the draft.
