Changed your tune on CDT. Why is that?

To be clear I don’t want CDT and I want to trade Willem for Cumming and Sharp. But I know what players MCQ, Bonnie Clarke and Massey will be after. Big, athletic beasts. Kicking and footy IQ very far down the list, after those results and expected results over the weekend I think that combo is paying $1.20 vs the field.

Not so sure the risk is that high. There will and have been plenty of picks around 4 that have gone on to have good careers without being stars. But as you say, the return could be very high. Looks to me a gamble worth taking.

yep. Robey looks to have a lot to get excited about. Certainly more than anyone other than Duursma (who I have doubts about)

This year I actually think he is most likely to be that rolled gold A grader. I also think he is high risk comparatively. But the 2025 draft just isn't full of well rounded players with excellent track records of high level performance. In fact the only guy I see like that is Sharp - who looks be almost certain to be at least B+, but unlikely to the a massive game breaker.

So compared to last year I would seriously look at Robey in the top 5 for 2025, but a pick in the teens for 2024. We so crushed doing our one year rebuild last year. e.g. I'd take Hotton (pick 14 last year) over Robey any day and twice on draft day.

Hotton was touted as a potential #1 before his knee injury. Would be rolled gold #1 in this draft.

Sharp seems to have a few more strings to his bow than being purely inside. He's sound defensively. He also is reasonably talented without being elite in terms of line breaking run, opening up play with his vision and poise (like Lalor to an extent), bringing others into the game and seems to be more of an average speed than slow.

He's a risk taker with dare.

He isn't a rolls royce, but there is a tad of class about him. Perhaps more of a Lexus lol

The combine testing will be interesting.

Whether he becomes A Grade is another question. But I have the same questions over Robey, Cumming and others.

If it were me, at this stage I'd be picking Sharp and Robey at 3 and 4, or if we trade pick 4, take 1 of the 2 and then maybe Grlj later on.

My thinking pretty much.

The big thing with Sharp is that he has a track record of picking the team up and dragging it over the line when things get tough. That is rare and worth gold and jewels to me (not that I am drafting anything, but I can keyboard jockey like a champion).

Robey, as above, he's my most likely to be a champion this year - but also high risk.

Decent year for player potential, but not a good year for those low risk high return types.

Probably not, it sounds like the Saints are going to cough up pick 7 for Flanders, which is crazy. Pick 7 and a future pick should get it done IMO.

It's just as crazy for Petracca.

I highly doubt you pick up any of CDT, Robey, Greeves, Dovaston, X Taylor and O Taylor, Grjl, NHH, Archie L or Emmett, and pick around them.

Plenty available outside of these though that would appeal.

Greeves and Ludowyke zero chance. Doubt we take XT, OT over Farrow. Others, particularly Grlj and Dovaston would appeal but we’d need to trade up or down.

Sharp, Robey and Greeves will be interesting to see here. Same with their 20m sprint times.

Sharp didn’t do the 2km, Greeves was sick so wasn’t there. Robey got 6:45 for 2km but someone said afterwards he didn’t test so might have gotten a number confused but I’m sure it was his number.
