Yeah that's not happening lolBrisbane want 16 for Starcevich so:
1/They can GAGF
2/Starcevich comes via FA for free
3/Robertson comes via PSD for free
4/Bid on Annable at #1
5/SYD or COLL to make a band 1 FA bid
Whether or not 5/ happens is what should interest you.
$5m across 2-years. Maximum of $3m in any one season … can go to 1 x player or 50 ….It's $5 million in sign on bonuses but $3 million can be spent on one player I think.
'In addition the club received a $5 million sign-on bonus to sit outside the salary cap for the first two years in the competition.'
Yeah that's not happening lol
A dual premiership player …Eagles rate him so highly offering $4.5m over 5-years. And you think asking for 16 (which will be mid-20’s) is unreasonable?Brisbane want 16 for Starcevich so:

Because the players from pick 5 to pick 15 are about the same or just a little worse than picks 3 and 4 this yearIf the top end of the draft is overrated/not as good as most years, why would you want to trade back? Surely the answer is that we take the picks as early as possible so that we get the pick of the best available talent
Which means they can go after a superstar$5m across 2-years. Maximum of $3m in any one season … can go to 1 x player or 50 ….

Still doesn't make sense, unless you're trying to say that taking 4+ players in that 5-15 range gets us more quality that just taking the 2 at 3 & 4Because the players from pick 5 to pick 15 are about the same or just a little better than picks 3 and 4 this year

Massive downgrade from Curnow to Allen though if they think they can win a flag.Swans very clearly have the cap space and appetite for a KPF (Curnow) and we have a great relationship with them.
26yo Oscar Allen for free or 28yo Charlie Curnow for 1R, F1 and Hayward?

If you post it another 1000 times it could happenA lot of you have got draft fever and are building up certain players that may well be just good contributers.
Watch what happens, we will be splitting picks.
Allen and Starcevich free agency cancels out. You keep end of first round pick. Of course that wont happen, but Lions have done you an absolute solid to give Allen a package to activate tier1… which is crazy for what Allen has produced over his career. So in reality Eagles owe the Lions and should pay ‘overs’ for Starcevich, not the other way around.Yes when he’s a free agent and should come at zero draft cost. We wouldn’t offer that much if he wasn’t a free agent.
The issue is the there is a rule set where if you are out of contract they can get you as a free agent, we will only have a draft compensation pick in that scenario rather then a trade (one player per team).Worst case scenario, we lose 1 or 2 and receive outrageously good draft currency in the trade. None of them are free agents.
Certainly nothing worth catastrophising over atm.
It doesn't automatically work that there is a clear deliniation in talent from pick to pick .Yep. After a bounty last year you need quality, not quantity.
