Surely after last trade period, WC fans dont genuinely believe their club is strong enough to hold Oscar?

Seriously, enough of this snot you lot, you will let him go and you will pay for Starcevich.

Robey ran a 3.118 sec 20 metre (slower than Smillie) & 6:45 (also worse than Smill)

Grlj ran a 2.931 second 20m on top of his 5:59 2km
This is where the flat 20m sprint doesn't tell the full story. How often does a player have to break from a standing start to top speed, rarely. A far greater measure of pace is when a playing is perhaps jogging then has to put the burners on, ie acceleration. Bigger players are more likely to have the later than the former, so if Robey can get the ball and burst that will do me.

OK...back on track with what this forum is about....

More and more I an favouring splitting pick-4. If Robey and Sharp are part of the 'top-4', then I worry about team balance and on-field opportunity if we get both, as to me it's almost certain Eagles take Duursma and CDT. And I don't believe we can take X Taylor, Grjl, Dovaston etc..at 4.

Round 1 2026....TT, Hopper and Prestia are all playing. We can talk about training form or promoting youth etc....all we like. But they are playing Round 1 and playing AFL every time they are fit.

Lalor and Hotton play every week without question. And ideally so do McCauliffe and Smillie.

So if we add Robey and Sharp, then how does that look into the future? (I haven't even included Jack Ross).

That's 7 x 'big-bodied' inside mids: TT, Hopper, McCauliffe, Smillie, Robey, Sharp and Lalor. How many realistically play each week? 5 or 6 at a pinch? And if you play 6, then do Hotton or Seth Campbell get any midfield minutes at all?

So to me in an ideal world it's Robey at pick-3 and split pick-4 for let's say pick-10 and a F1 from a mid-low ranked team. That gets us one of Grjl, Dovaston, X Taylor at pick-10, and shores up our future options in relation to a stronger draft hand and/or trade end of 2026, depending on our 2026 on-field performance.

Considering Xav and Grlj especially are usually rated 4-8 in most gurus open rankings I don’t understand why you can’t take them?

Also the problem isn’t big bodied kids it’s versatility. Hopper and Prestia can only play midfield, smil and Kane can probably play HBF but there really isn’t a spot there for them. Robey can play as a small KPF or third tall and maybe a wing (though his 2km was only okay), Lalor can play as a third tall/high HFF and Hotton can play as wing/small forward/high HFF and TT can play high HFF. Sharp has played HBF for SA and high hff in sanfl and is a competent mid sized forward.

I agree it’s too many and we’re not getting rid or hopper and Prestia in a hurry. I personally wouldn’t take Sharp as I think Robey has more upside and more positional versatility.

Sliding for a top 10 pick this year means we need to get one from bombers, wce, dees (assuming petracca pick), or Carlton. None of them will give us an F1.

GC might be an option but we can’t give them points so their pick 6 probably ends with WC or Bombers.

Just take who we want at 4

Agreed. I put the comparisons to Smill because he plays a lot more athletically than Smill.

Some dude on X (twitter) carrying on puffing his chest out like West Coast will just walk away from the deal. I laughed and said more chance Brisbane walk away from Allan.

No chance they walk away from a guy they have been chasing for quite some time. This has Baker from last year written all over it. West Coast are desperate for pick 2, Brisbane knows this hence why the paperwork for Allan hasn't been lodged yet.

Robey does have a fractured collar bone .... still he may slide out of the Top10 ... personally I would pick the bloke because he tested rather than squibing it like Sharp.

Big news is Sam Grjl ... hard to see us not taking him with his sub 3s and 6 min combo ... his speed, endurance, aggression and versatility are exactly what our list needs ...
