Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Do we expect a similar deal as we gave for Reidy to acquire Chesser?
Doubt it. Former first rounder, taken two years to seemingly get over issues. Finished season well and they wanted to retain him. Value has dropped, but not too much. Every chance they hold out for a second rounder, at least a solid third.

If McVee is going for #23, then Chesser is in the 50’s IMO

Same value as SPS...was WC 3rd (52) which we swapped for Lewis Young.

Entirely up to you what you want/would accept for Curnow from the Swans, but with regard with waiting '......until next year to cash in on him at a higher price...Like SOS did with Gibbs those years back...''

Can I paraphrase Kerry Packer and suggest You only get one Adelaide in your lifetime, and you've had yours.
Locket... Franklin.... Charlie...? 'one Adelaide in a lifetime' heck off

So what would you consider a 'reasonable' offer from Geelong is given their priority is Marshall?
Yeah, Nah, Can't do It. The more I look through their team, the more i realize that the only players we would be interested in (Myers/Mannagh/Stengle/Dempsey/Neale/Holmes) would literally be untouchable or too old (Stewart).

On Blue Abroad's Trade Period Recap Day 2 podcast, one of his regulars came on and said that Ainsworth will be a Carlton player next year. Says he's not sure of the trade details, but his source says he's coming to Carlton.

Of course, we have no idea on his 'source', but right now everything seems to pointing that way.

I reckon GCS will be pretty keen to get him off the books to free up salary and a list spot for Petracca, so shouldn't cost a lot being essentially a salary dump for them.

Just on Ainsworth, does anyone else think that he has Zorko traits?
That’s what I’m thinking and how I’d use him.

He has burst speed, and he has the ability to go into the midfield. I hope we don't want him to play him down back. We do that sort of thing too much. He'd probably be our best small forward, or at least stop Motlop from attending stoppages, and switch out with Williams.

The only remote chance though, if they got serious...

Shoot SDK off to Melbourne for F1.

O'Sullivan + F1(Demons) + F1(Cats) -> Charlie + F2(Blues)

They're not doing this though...
Yeah I had a peek before, they have some good top tier players (whom they wouldn't/Couldn't part with) followed by Sweet FA. I think they'll finish lower than us next year. They are putting a LOT of eggs in the Marshall basket but I reckon they are seriously ****ed now.

Message I got we are very interested but will depend on what GCS want

And for all the talk and speculation no one has put an offer to us re: Charlie yet although some suspect Swans are working on a deal to blow us away

Was it Paul Sebastiani?

You think Carlton finish ahead of Geelong? Is that what you mean?
