Maybe Clayton got bamboozled by Sydney and it’s baffling non-grid system streets which is why he & Leppa can’t find each other.

That, or he found @WalterBlaknWhte’s small Bolivian mountain and will resurface at a pokies in 2 weeks.

I never wanted him anyway!

Edit: stupid BigFooty tagging code not letting me alert WalterBlaknWhte that this is all his fault

Melbourne basically want him gone, because he's an irresponsible f wit....
And yet people here are clamouring for him to join us.Surely we’re not that desperate, are we?I think there’s a lot of nostalgia here for Oliver, for the player he was three or four years ago.But what I saw of him this year is someone who is clearly past his prime.I think the risks of getting him outweigh the benefits. He just comes with too much baggage in my opinion.

Espically after what happened to Bobby Hill this season

I'm not too bothered by Oliver's decision - chalk it up as bad timing. Got told he was getting pushed to the outer at the Dee's, by chance he was on a plane to Sydney the next day and got his head turned by the Giants and clearly made a decision pretty quick.

If that was his mindset after the exit from Melbourne - and he'd been staying in Melb a few days longer, the tables would've been flipped and we'd be in front of him first and likely his preference. Reality is that didn't happen, GWS had some luck fall in their lap, we move on and there might be a silver-lining we're just not seeing yet

Wouldn't surprise me if the scenario was, his manager told him Leppa's coming to see you today, and he probably had a whinge and said l'm not going to Collingwood anyway, so lm just wasting my time, and didn't turn up to the meeting. Then Leppa and his manager trying to call him but couldn't get hold of him....

Ugle-Hagan seems like a bigger risk to culture than Oliver...,

Surely any good culture can survive one or two bad eggs?

I'd question how good the culture actually is if it couldn't, with clubs surely striving to have a culture so strong it can afford to take a chance on a highly talented misfit or overcome their presence if they develop into one after their arrival.

Beams 2.0 wasn't much chop, while Stephenson went from rising star to space cadet after his gambling sanction.

That was bloody annoying at the time but we came out the other side with a flag within 5 years.

Ultimately you hope your culture is such you can turn these bad eggs into a feel good story of redemption.

While I wont be pissing and moaning about us not chasing JUH as I get it, I just thought with the position he fills being an area of need, the gamble of what will be relatively little salary cap space was worth it given the trade cost will be stuff all.

As a reminder there's still basically a full week of trade period left (I know it's a stupidly drawn out charade)

From memory, 12 months ago we hadn't even heard any rumblings about Houston coming to us a week out from the deadline - still plenty of time for a few surprise domino's to fall, or a rabbit out of the hat (in true trade radio fashion I'm trying to use as many lame metaphors as possible)
