Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Love Craig Cameron's take on contracted players this morning and players needing to grow up a bit in relation to making demands. Contracts have consequences and while players are free to ask for a trade, the club has the right to say no and the matter ends there.

Getting agents to white-ant the club holding the contract and spruik their players to all and sundry as an attempt to force the clubs' hand should be grounds for deregistration.

I know its a good thing, and its a sign of a more professional, well run club......but i want some leaks and some proper rumours!!!
I joined the site peak MLG dysfunction when there were leaks left right and centre, thought "sh*t how good is this? All this inside info!"

As an older, more mature and learned man, it's nice to hear nothing all trade period basically lmao.

Why would the AFL be professional and transparent when they can be incompetent and opaque?

I do a particular kind of administrative work which involves careful reading of rules.

So the AFL drives me up the ****ing wall

I think theres some hope there. Not sure it was nessecary to take a shot at Humphrey like that.

I’m glad they did take a shot at him. This is the AFL, you know the rules before you start playing.

He always had the option to retire and move back to Moe!

Too ****ing entitled, this generation!

Not really, they're all important.

Replace Brisbane's list with WCE's and see if they win a flag...

Like I said, patience is required.

The way I see it,

2026 -> standards and culture building starts.
2027 -> next coach will be selected. Our coaching performance will start to improve if we get the right people in
2028 -> coaching, standards and culture starts to flourish
2029 -> list really beginning to gel
2030 -> finals contenders
Or more likely this:

2026 -> We realise the list is royally ****ed, Voss sacked, wooden spoon. New coach, everyone trusting Wright as the messiah. (3-4 win season)
2027 -> We are shit but green shoots (4-6 win season)
2028 -> still shit with green shoots (3-4 win season)
2029 -> even shitter with less green shoots, new coach sacked (2-3 wins)
2030 -> New coach bump, slightly less shit (6-8 wins)

If it's true that there has yet to be any official offers come across our table for Charlie, I'm actually coming around to the idea of keeping him.
Hopefully this has been an eye opener for him and a sobering moment that clubs aren't moving heaven and earth to get him in the door.
If he's smart enough to see that and understand it, he might pull his head out of his arse and take it all a bit more seriously next year.

Yesterday it was #40 for Buku? Its just all "fluff" talking atm.

Or there are multiple scenarios and the club has provided several possible trades to the other clubs and we are seeing what works.

WCE may be looking to trade out of the end of this draft given how much assets they have at the front, but maybe they might need the pick for a different deal.

Very confident both Khamis and Chesser will happen

And what would the same players have to say if clubs decided not to honor their side of a contract?

I am compassionate to an extent. Player circumstances can change. Family stuff comes up etc.

But there should be an exit cost for players. Like you lose all bonuses for the last year of your contract.

So you won't just be willy-nilly requesting trades.

Players shouldn't be able to sign a 4 year contract and in year 2 ask for a trade to a team who will pay them more and expect an easy out

Not quite.

Clarry was told he wasn't guaranteed a senior spot.

I'm more talking about Charlie in this type of instance.

"You want out? No problem. We're trading you to West Coast for Pick 1."

It's moreso about the player's ability to force a trade AND pick where they want to go. It's one or the other, and clubs should have all the power in a situation like this to go and get THE best deal they can possible for a player that wants out.
100% exactly how it should be, so it will never happen

GOLD Coast is expected to open talks with Carlton on a possible move for Ben Ainsworth, but will not be taking calls from anyone on Jake Rogers.
Cameron confirmed the Blues had some "preliminary" interest and expects a call in the coming days.
