Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

There’s nothing like recruiting a player that played well against us - it’s been a KPI of our recruiting playbook since we got Brent Heaver.

And for all Boomer supporters since we got Peter McKenna 🤣
Since we got Barassi please.

We're having a crack early, I like it.

Goodbye Charlie.
I think its the only way this can work, we need a-grade talent coming in if Charlie is going out, otherwise no deal (that would be my stance)

The less a grade talent we have, the less chance we have of attracting talent in going forward, and we just look like a feeder club.

I also would refuse to trade with Geelong out of spite.

Is it right to assume that we would want to finalise any Charlie dealings early (i.e by Friday or at worst Monday) and not let it linger into the deadline territory?

Feel like if we did decide to trade Charlie we would want a couple of days to maneuver incoming picks to get us set up best for Dean (possibly a pick before his bid), Ison and Cody next year.
Plus we have some other business to sort with Chesser and Buku.

I think we'll sort Chesser and Buku independently of Charlie, probably Ainsworth as well by the sounds of it.

Picks can continue to be traded after the deadline, right up until and into the draft itself, so if Charlie goes down late we'll still be able to make pick trades to improve our positioning if other clubs are open to it.

No matter what? Are you sure about that?

So, if it means missing Walker because we have to use the draft capital as part of the trade?

If it means Walsh walks?

If the rest of the list still needs to be reset in key areas?

I'll just say this, as something to think about, we got Judd... where'd that get us? Sure we improved, but we didn't even make a prelim let alone come close to winning a flag...
Judd was 100% the correct choice.

Playing squad was a basket case. Judd led us out of that.

They should start adding exit clauses in contracts. But if you opt for that the overall contract value is much lower.

So you can exit after two years of your 6 year contract, but lose various premiums in the contract. Like any rewards for performance etc.
Add a loyalty bonus that vests over the course of the contract to come into effect after you've completed 66% of your contract.
