Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Wait so all it would have taken is a future 2nd round pick to get Leek Aleer and the saints baulked after spending 5 million?

Should we just make an offer like that? Think he would make us better
Yes. Way better player than Buku kaka

Geelong and Swans offers are unders. Why weaken our team to strengthen these players thieving clubs.

Give us an A grader + picks or take a hike. He’s contracted for 4 years.

Haywood is a B grader, you’ll be disappointed if you think anything else.
Correction.

Haywood is a B grader on a good day.

Only drama is cats probably pull offer on Monday as Marshall more of a need . So might be back to being just Sydney offer… which they probably realise .

We can scoff and laugh, but what else do we expect from Geelong? Not meant in a bad way, more that's actually about all they can do if they aren't offering players. Throw all their best picks at us - which aren't good enough, and they likely know that, it's just all they have.

A shy at the stumps is about all it is. No thanks.
Mainly naivety about how trade week works.
We should treat everything leak of information with scepticism and pessimism because it’s all part of a bigger game.

It goes well beyond the draft picks Tassie are receiving. There will be a lot more compensation picks in 2027 due to Tassie picking up a lot more players than a standard year. They'll also be pre-listing some of the better players as 17 year olds taking a heap of quality out of that draft. Clubs know this and will value 2027 future picks accordingly.

How many band 1 level players do you expect Tasmania to recruit as free agents? And how many of those clubs do you expect to take their pick in 2027, I believe that clubs can choose what year to use a compensation pick similar to GC concessions?

The 17 year old access is an interesting point but it is not uncommon for the best 17 year olds to stagnate.

The 2027 firsts are really a crap shoot but I don’t believe they are completely worthless. If we get it right they could be gold.

Devil's advocate - I think IF we did it, we could potentially go to Port with the TDK compo, the Geelong 2026 first, and their choice of either ours or Geelong's 2027 first.

Then match the Dean bid this year with the Geelong first and JSOS compo.

Curnow for Butters, still get Dean, Ison, Chesser, Khamis and then Ainsworth as a salary dump. Retain our 2026 draft hand, retain a first rounder in 2027 (Port to gamble on whether it's our own or Geelong's).
Its very close youd think port would just want that little bit more

Ahh saint kilda the family club…..

Watch the SDK rumours fire up now.

Besides not needing him, from our perspective it would be good. 2026 Saints first rounder, that can be added to the Cats 2025 and 2026 first rounders as part of a deal for Charlie.
