The reason the saints didn't want to go ahead with the aleer deal is that the board apparently didn't want to trade future picks (call bs on it).

What makes them think that they will then turn around and trade a future first for degoey.

Every club would have a list of targets. I’d say this isn’t a sudden interest.

I saw that on youtube yesterday TD and it is not a very compelling offer is it a 1 yr extension and from he said the Pies are offering 2 yrs.The last big man we got from Swans was Darcy Cameron anhd he has gotten better and better with experience and he comes from the West also. TD do you think we might look at that fellow Blamires who works at the and absolutely smashed our midfield playing for Frankston.

I am ok with not getting a big fish, but against getting Simpkin just for the sake of it - remember he is on close to $1m per year. Would prefer we just bank the cash for this year.

However, we should have put more work into targeting lesser know players that could be valuable to us like Gruzewski, Butts, Rodgers ect.

This obviously isn’t the case, but feels like outside Silvagni , we have been sitting in our hands all year.

And a few on here, including myself, have said all along we should be banking the cash for next year.

Tbf, we really have no clue what discussions the club & Leppa are having with players, managers & clubs & how much work they are doing behind the scenes.

Personally I don't mind if we don't broadcast to everyone who we may be interested in.

I don’t know about that.The response is usually negative from supporters no matter who we target.

Feels true. People are eager for action, but then either complain about who we target or how much we give up for them. Maybe it comes from fantasising about the great deals we could make then being disappointed by reality.

We landed a 2 X AA last season. Whether he was down on form this season is irrelevant. He was the big fish last year
