I don't believe we need WC involved. Just make sure the deal includes Sydney's 1st this year and next year.
Then use our pick 11 and Sydney's 10 to move up to pick 2 and Chesser from WC.

So we finish with 2, 20 and Sydney’s future first. We also still have our own which should help us to get Cody next year.

Hopefully two picks inside 10 is enough for Cody.

The only positive if you can call it that with doing this trade for Charlie with Geelong (they would have to add a Myres as well) would be that they have absolutely no capital to go after Walsh or Butters next year and hopefully their older players are aging out quicker than first anticipated. It would truly feel amazing to see them drop to 10th. We can wish, and death ride them.

I’d be pretty disappointed with that Walshy and if it were that simple I think it would have already been done. You’ll laugh at this no doubt but add a slide of 10 to 13 which values Chesser at pick 32 I think is about right.

It's an unfortunate situation for the Eagles, I don't deny that. Not sure how it pans out in terms of the finer details but I suspect either way its going to be considered a bargain/rip off depending on which side you sit on.

Being OOC and with his injury history there's just not much of a leg to stand on despite imo Chesser showing he's clearly of high quality when healthy. Luckily for the Eagles our list team generally seem to act in good faith in most deals that get done.

There are no trades where a star is traded for another star player. It just doesn't happen.

Sydney don't have pick 1... if they did, they wouldn't be including their F1 + Hayward.

We need an F1 out of this trade period at the very least so we can match the Walker bid...

How do you suppose we get that F1 pick by keeping Charlie? I'm listening for an alternative, but I doubt anyone can give one.

We'd also ideally want to get a kid before the Dean bid comes this year... again, the Charlie trade unlocks the ability to do that. What's the alternative?

Hayward is a solid medium forward option. If we get Ainsworth as well, I'm actually keen to see how our forward line will function next year with Harry, HOK, Kemp, Ainsworth, Hayward and Moir...

I can't see how the AFL can change the rules for the next 2 years now. It's just not legal. If they do, I still expect 2 round 1 picks to be enough, but either way we need to fight these changes if they try to push them through.

I feel that is close, but we will need to add something. Not sure what that is but hopefully a 2nd rounder from another trade we do or something similar.

You will find that it actually values him between 42 and 43. Only 196 points between 10 and 13 and 42 is worth 202.

If we are purely chasing points, we should do that deal all day long, and use 42 for Khamis.

If we are trying to pair up 10 with say Sydney's 1st and get ahead of a Dean bid, that's another story. I personally don't think we should this time. We have other fish to try. Ben Ainsworth for example and points for Jack Ison.

I think we need to get a pick in the 30 range to get the deal done as well. I'm looking at Acres or McGovern trades.
