Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Stop being obtuse.

Our 2008 squad was shithouse when we got Judd.

Our current squad is not shit. Clearly an obvious point.

You said getting Judd and not winning a flag was the benchmark essentially. So has every trade the past 30 years been a failure then?

You're being obtuse and ignorant.

Our current squad won 9/23 games with a shit draw. That is shit. If you're going to say our 2008 squad which won 10/22 games was shithouse, then there's no denying it now... It's not 2023 anymore, we've been on a downward trajectory every since!

All this dreaming about Butters turning everything around when we've seen that's not how it works...

That benchmark isn't for every trade btw... (talk about being obtuse LOL) ... it's certainly the benchmark for selling the farm to bring in one of the comp's best players though...

Never really set the world on fire did Durds, but seems like an absolute legend of a bloke, especially his relationship with his younger sister.

I hope he doesn't go, but if he does, I hope it's to a good club and he flourishes.
I agree. Im a big lover of Durds too. I hope reuniting with his sister/family brings out the best of his football career.

I don’t have enough background knowledge of Ainsworth to know what his strengths are.

But as long as hes
Tough
Can kick
Likes to get in peoples faces he’ll be better that half the squad.
He is more or less this.

Can blaze away at goal a bit, and his tackling and pressure can go away at times.

Definitely has attitude though

Fantastic young man, Durds. I genuinely wish him all the best. The main issue for him has always been his shoulders, they tend to dislocate just as he’s finding form. He’s also caught a bit in between being a mid and a small. Hopefully he can stay fit and go on to have a long career.

Career average 2 tackles and less than 1 goal a game for a 28 year old forward. Not sure why we need another average small forward imo.
I don't see him as a pure small forward but more as a HF flanker that can prob get some minutes in the middle. I don't rate him highly but one impressive stat from this year was his kick rating (+10.0 for threat rating and +9.9 for retention rating) which is really really good. Could be a way of improving our inside 50 efficiency

Straight swap? Or would Port need to add a pick?
