Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

CD pretty much ruled out a chase for Leek...

So, with the assets we have, how can we get deals done?

Trade - Ainsworth + #52 -> F2
Reason - Ben has played 24 games this year in a strong side and his goals per game is above average. He is a quality player and as a bit of a salary dump, a ~ 20 pick upgrade (52 should come back a bit after all the bids) into a strong draft should get the deal done imo.

Trade - Khamis -> F3
Reason - He's contracted and they don't want #41 this year anyway it seems. But, if you want to blow your trumpet about his worth.. then why isn't he part of your best 23 on a regular basis? Particularly given your lack of key defender options... He's worth a 3rd round pick. Send next year's over in a stronger draft and get it done or leave, no need to posture over this one.

Trade - Chesser -> #41
I'd start by offering Lij. I know they'll reject it, but we want to get rid of him anyway and he's a talented player which is def something WC lack so they might consider it... But I think in all likelihood, it's going to be pick #41. That pick will come back a bit too... might end up being mid-late 30's and for a player with significant injury battles as well as questionable commitment/work ethic, that's a fair offer.

That leaves us with #10, #22, #52 & #54 in terms of points.

Now, #52 & #54 will come back a bit too, probably into the mid 40's but we need to find another pick or 2 in the 2nd/3rd round. If Port are offering a pick in the 30's for Durdin, I'd bite their hand off.

Gov surely could fetch a 3rd rounder from someone?

Acres is another we should be shopping around, I'd offer him to the Cats for pick 40, **** him smiling like a dick head in the Cats rooms, let the fan boy join his heroes.

Then there's the Charlie trade and if we end up dealing with the Swans for #11 + F1 + Hayward then that really opens up the possibility of combining 10 + 11 for an earlier pick or another F1...

Hayward and Ainsworth on the HFF's really does give us something we haven't had for a while. It' actually a bit exciting. Throw in Mckay, Moir, Kemp and Khamis its an x factor forward line

No way. Motlop has a lot of potential. If he doesn't reach it in a few years his value is practically the same as now, not much, so no point trading him now.

Ainsworth is the type of 'B'-grade players we have been screaming out for.
Has some deficiencies yes, but filling the list out with these types/levels of player is exactly what we need.

Absolutely spot on. A bit iffy shot at goal but he clearly makes us better than we are currently in an area where we need to get better.

I'm actually a bit sad with this. Had a great year in 2022 and quickly became one of my faves.

Not sure what's happened since - whether it was injuries, confidence, game plan, or a combo of each - but he's nowhere near that player these days. I would honestly wish him all the best if he heads back to SA, where he'd probably be happier being closer to his family, and particularly his sister

Got to say I’m liking this, forward line is shaping up to look pretty dangerous.
You would think this really indicates Charlie is well and truly gone and we are reshaping.
