Fitness, development, talent id has changed so expect a shift from the usual token 12-8 finish into something more expansiveBut seriously think about it, what's stopping Essendon making finals then since you guys have great youth and A grade talent better than some finals teams like Hawthorn.
This was not said at allWill Day is not an an A Grader.
Either you confess to being the DODO of on ignore you go.
Dude, they're both slow as **** and they can't cover the ground, that's why they're not in your team anymore. Ned Long is a success story because the campaigner can run all day. If you don't want them just delist them lmfao, we don't need a player to be part of this trade. It’s very simple that players that may not get opportunities in one side, which is a strong club playing in a prelim. That they would in a side that were bottom 4.
Hawthorns ruck was in this boat aka Meek at Freo, plenty of talented players aren’t able to break through, find opportunities and then thrive. Ned Long has done it at Collingwood this year.
Both Reeves and Hustwaite would play for Essendon. Hence their position being mentioned as steak knives in a trade.
Reeves has a 3 year offer on the table at Hawthorn and Hustwaite is still contracted.Dude, they're both slow as **** and they can't cover the ground, that's why they're not in your team anymore. Your not wrong that your talent ID is off.Fitness, development, talent id has changed so expect a shift from the usual token 12-8 finish into something more expansive
Don’t disagree with the overall sentiment, but I think both are still fringe players in our side at best. It’s very simple that players that may not get opportunities in one side, which is a strong club playing in a prelim. That they would in a side that were bottom 4.

*was off, past tense, Dodoro is no longer at the clubYour not wrong that your talent ID is off.
Is hawthorns talent ID off, seeing as we signed up Newk untill 2032 and pay him as an A grade talent?*was off, past tense, Dodoro is no longer at the club

I guess our F1st just went up in ValueYes.
There are a few reasons why I said that:Don’t disagree with the overall sentiment, but I think both are still fringe players in our side at best.
Reeves I can’t see us have any interest in to begin with, as he is at best a slight upgrade on Bryan IMO and 3 years older.
Hustwaite is an interesting one but still behind Caldwell, Durham, Parish, Martin and probably even Tsatas in the midfield pecking order.
That’s also not even considering us probably picking up one of Duursma/Sharp/Robey in the draft.
I agree that they would still get greater opportunity at Essendon than Hawthorn, even if they are both still likely depth options if we are healthy.
All fair points and I agree that both players have some value at AFL level. There are a few reasons why I said that:
- Rules changing in 2026 (ruck rules and 5 bench).
Last time the ruck rules were like that, in 2023, Reeves played 21 games.
Reeves is a very good tap ruck, and has gotten better around the ground.
Bryan is talented but he hasn’t consistently played nor has he played often as a number one ruck or solo ruck. He’s also coming off a significant knee injury.
Reeves is a valuable commodity to Hawthorn which is why he likely stays but in case of bringing up steak knife options, he is definitely a good value to another club aswell. He would play for Essendons afl side.
Hustwaite dominated VFL, and has talent. He is on the slower side, but plenty of players have made careers out of it.
He is very clean, strong inside game whilst still having good skills by foot, good spacial awareness and especially strong by hand. He would make a good quality afl player, he probably just hasn’t take his opportunity consistently enough, nor has he fit into the dynamic.
It’s the same for Serong and going to Sydney. Even tho they’re a pretty strong side. He probably finds himself with more opportunities and likely lines up as a best 23 player come Round 1.
I’m sure Kevin Sheedy, John Coleman and Jack Clarke will show that to them on an atlas..So let me get this straight you think a guy who has been BOG in 4 of the 5 Finals he played in (not that any Essendon supporter would know anything about finals) who got voted by all the AFL coaches as the best young player in the game the same year Daicos played and has been voted in the top 50 players in the comp the last 2 years is a B grader.
Will Day is not an an A Grader.
Either you confess to being the DODO of on ignore you go.
I agree for the example of all depth options, I’d say guys like those would still walk in and with greater opportunity. No matter the team or player you need to perform anyway. All fair points and I agree that both players have some value at AFL level.
My main point was simply that being solid depth options in a strong Hawthorn side doesn’t necessarily mean they would automatically walk into a weaker Essendon lineup; there’s more nuance to that discussion.
Reeves in particular would probably be a round 1 starter in this hypothetical, but Rosa has indicated that we’ll persist with Blackiston, who’s a similar age to Reeves but more of an unknown at AFL level, until Bryan returns to full fitness.
Hustwaite, in my view, would be a younger Setterfield replacement but would still be battling with a couple of others for the final inside midfield spot in our side behind Caldwell/Parish/Durham.
Relax it will get done.Just don't think either club is going to meet at each others walk away

It will just be arranged to go down to the wire, the AFL want it to.

or trade it for Suns pick 7+Suns F1+36Yep, I called them a broken record days ago, but nothing changes.Dewy some posters are just not worth replying to. Just clogs up the thread with nonsense.
Also I'm not gonna to say who, but there's one poster who's said the same thing here about 300 times now. Extraordinary.
0% chance Essendon do this. Can't see Blues taking that.. they likely prefer to get 11 and then use 10+11 to move up before Dean bid. Plus lot overs from Hawks.
my best offer is
