lol, the WC posters still in the Merrett thread, still cracking the sads over picking hawks picks instead of the blues.
Guess you must hate talent, both get a game for Essendon8, F1 and a promise that we'll never, ever end up with Ned Reeves or Henry Hustwaite on our list.
Considering it’s pick 9, and academy picks are irrelevant because they were never available to begin with, I’d say pick 9 is still pick 9. Extremely simple. If only there was a filter on here that changed ‘8’ to ‘13’.
It would make the trade talks around here much more realistic.
This is awesome I mean just imagine when (notice not IF exuding that arrogance you talk aboutOh my my.
Lol at the Hawks posters who are so sensitive when others have opinions that arent blowing hot air up their backsides.
Just to be clear. There are many many reasons why opposition fans dont like your club and its supporters.
It isnt hard to find reasons either. And it is more than one group of fans who dont respect that club.
Hoping an arrogant Hawthorn fall flat on their faces gives us all something to look forward to. Simple concept really.
) we win a premiership in the next few years. It might go up a level. There is no end to the levels of arrogance that hawthorn supporters will reachLog in to remove this Banner Ad
Bolded isn’t fact, it’s your opinion.IMO if Hawks want to get Merrett, then MacKenzie will need to be part of the trade. Merrett will make the Hawks so much better through their midfield, and they should pay up for that. Sure Mackenzie "could" be as good, but lets see the facts, he barely could break into their best 22 this year, clearly being held back for some reason, highly talented and highly regarded, but is that enough to knock back a sure thing in Merrett.
IMO no, and Essendon need something to sell to their members. Another high pick (to potentially trade into the top 2-3 players in the draft) plus Mackenzie is exactly the type of thing that would be sellable to the Essendon members. Their board know that a bad deal would burn the place down, so they need to be shown to get something valuable for their members.
I'm not sure personally why the Hawks wouldn't do a deal like that, Merrett is far more valuable in pushing their list towards a premiership next year than Mackenzie will be.
Cut to the chase most WCE supporters don’t like the Hawks because we have made you look silly in two Grand Finals by flogging you by a combined 22 goals.Oh my my.

A lot of ifs in footyMidfield will be thin again next year if Day doesn't make it back and McKenzie doesn't step up. If those two are good for 40 games in the midfield Hawks will be pretty sweet imo.
How do you say ‘I’m all in with Matty Clarke’ without actually saying it?Oh my my.

If Hawthorn offer 2 firsts and Mackenzie (not saying it’ll happen, because it probably wouldn’t). Mackenzie says no I don’t wanna go, Essendon like the trade but Mackenzie doesn’t want to go there. Meeting with him and convincing him, talking deals specifically with him is apart of it. Goes for fringe players, guns and everyone inbetween.I disagree, the club is clear it doesnt want to trade ZM, so if Hawks need to send a player its their job to set it up.
Sure we will obviously chat to them, but it’s not our job to actually convince them.
You literally came in here and started laughing at the prospect of “Hawthorn wasting their firsts on two 30 year olds” one of which played at your club.Oh my my.

Out of respect to the board mods I don't want to derail this thread by discussing other players, I'd be happy to talk about them in the VFL forum though.Guess you must hate talent, both get a game for Essendon
This is funny.Literally no proven A graders.. plenty of potential though![]()
Day is as much of an a grader as Jordan RidleyThis is funny.
Newcombe and Day are both A Graders, whether Day can stay on the park consistently is to be seen however.
There are many Hawthorn posters that come onto this forum with the sole purpose of slagging off Essendon. Adding nothing to the trade discussion. Look at your posting, changing it so that you pretended to not to know Tsatas, or having a whinge when all the drug talk in here was stopped.
These are the same posters who also have a big cry when called out for their shit-posting.
Jordan RidleyDay is as much of an a grader as Jordan Ridley
Newcomb isn’t as good as the good folk at Hawthorn think.
He’s a good player but there is a pretty obvious reason Hawthorn are chasing A graders talent

Can you BOG in four out of five knock out finals and not be an A grader? As an aside who was the last Essendon player to actually BOG in a final?Literally no proven A graders.. plenty of potential though![]()
Yes, Essendon finished 15th this year and are generally regarded as a bad football club. It is typical to improve a football club by moving out substandard players and replacing them with AFL standard players. Your suggestion to replace them with more substandard players is an interesting one, and something I'll raise at the next board meeting. Thank you for your attention to this matterHmmm Reeves and Hustwaite would both play for Essendon’s afl side, so I wonder what that makes Essendon’s AFL side? Team of VFL players?
Wow, must be easy to win finals and make prelims then if you don't even need A graders. As I said, Jordan Ridley is a bonafide A graders, might even be better than Day.
Newcomb is a B grader, he is not a top tier mid. Not consistent enough.
You can deny it all you want but facts are facts

It’s very simple that players that may not get opportunities in one side, which is a strong club playing in a prelim. That they would in a side that were bottom 4.Yes, Essendon finished 15th this year and are generally regarded as a bad football club. But seriously think about it, what's stopping Essendon making finals then since you guys have great youth and A grade talent better than some finals teams like Hawthorn.A long history shows this happening. Disagree all you want but it occurs
Big reason Bombers want 2/3 firsts is because they’ve got little idea and confidence in their recruiters identifying quality young talent and think we’ll hopefully get one good one out of 3! Delusional bunch
