Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I don't see why we shouldn't go for both really.
Because we don't need a long term KPD on about $650k a year. We really really like O'Farrell when he gets back and Dean after an apprenticeship. Any other KPD on the list becomes superfluous in 2027/28 at sometime (like Young) wouldn't make sense to me to bring in Leek when he wouldn't be required in a couple of years.

Torn about May, if he didn't have his baggage he would be perfect in terms of teaching Dean and O'Farrell and bowing out when they were due to take over.

Chesser hasn't been able to consistently hold a spot at the West Coast Eagles who are one of the worst sides in AFL history.

Honestly never heard of him before he was rumoured to come our way.
He has played in a team that has nothing around him. People often use the "worst team" argument excessively when evaluating players. he has had some injuries as well.

Adding a genuine forward who has an aerial game who presents and gives an option going forward as opposed to forwards who aren't really genuine forwards who don't have an aerial game who get out of position regularly or sit back and wait for the ball to come in improves our ball movement and opens up space in our forward line as well as improves our scoring ability.

Guys like Ainsworth and the upcoming of Kemp and Moir are the makings of a better structured forward line.

Guys like Durdin, Fogarty, Cottrell etc as the making of our forward line is not going to take us forward so we need to find players who read the game better as a forward, get involved in our passages of play more and have a more complete game and skillset.

Who actually wants Charlie at the club next year? Not me. The trust is gone. The club has been nothing but supportive of him despite self induced misfortunes along the way. He's approaching 30 and acts like a teenager. Get the best deal and move this baby on
I'm quite on board with getting a huge haul for him.

For everyone melting about Ainsworth being a dud

His game vs Brisbane this year in Rd 20

27 Disposals
3 Goals
1 Behind
3 Goal Assists
12 Score Involvements
447 Metres Gained

Even if that was a one off I'd love to know when the last time anyone not named Curnow or Mckay in our forward line had a game even slightly comparable to that?

Get him in a good role in our team and he will be a lovely acquisition.

The only reason why Lord doesnt play more senior footy is because they think his development will be better served in hte 2's
Yeah & one of the reasons that people think Voss has no ****ing clue about his players abilities/talents & how to use them is shit like that.

Lord is a player, quicker we embrace that & back the kid in, the quicker we get better.

Trading a F2 and giving away Durdin is not a good trade
What I think is being missed by a lot of tge negative reports on Ainsworth is that whenever I see him play he looks fit and ready to go. Hence, he gives himself every opportunity to be better than players like Durdin who never looked fit or Motlop and a few others.

What that does is make others lift their standard, these are also leadership qualities we are lacking. He loves a goal and has a real competitive streak. We lack all these qualities.

They gave us Frankie.

We're in front for the next decade!!!!!!!!
This is who comes to mind for me when thinking of Ainsworth as an addition.
Once Frankie was pushed up as hif we played much cleaner with good delivery and output of goals from him.
Having watched a fair bit of GC as a mate is their biggest fan, Ben gives me the same sort of vibes. Effective inside 50 disposal and willingness to take a shot at goal on.
These guys I think will supersede Fogartys role as me has become a little more muted in his effectiveness
