Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Speaking to one of Humphreys close mates, he is telling me that he is confident that Humphrey is indeed going to Carlton. (He may also be messing with me)
Hopefully this means we can keep Hayward. I’d hate to lose Hayward

Rowbottom I’m okay to trade out unless it’s not bloody Collingwood

Florent, I’m sad to see him go but hopefully does well with more opportunities. Just fell out of favour with the new coach. This happens sometimes

We’re mostly good to trade with, so we’d probably try our best to get you the players you want

Humphrey would be a good pick up for you

I know everyone is 50 50 on hayward but surely he has to be involved fit's a massive need in our list besides the obvious gulden heeney warner and blakey
OK this is no way or shape ITK (which at least on the Swans board consists of rehashing stuff that is already in the media and enigmatically adding something along the lines of 'can't say any more at this stage' or my source 'didn't give me the names').

Based on media reports Florent and Rowbottom seem to be digging in their heels, on leaving, whereas I think Hayward, based on recent utterings is more amenable to a move (to Carlton) and perhaps more understanding of the trading landscape.

He indicated in a recent interview# that he went to Longmire and indicated that the Carlton free agency offer was much better than the contract being offered by Sydney and that the Swans deal would need to be sweetened, which of course it was.
So Carlton did previously 'chase' him and that would be a plus (compared to Florent/Rowbottom who seemingly are being pushed out without a suitor).
Hayward also previously spoke highly of Voss.

So just an opinion but I'd imagine Hayward would be gettable, if Carlton should so choose.

(FWIW, of the three he would easily be the one I'd least like to lose)

****, thought I had posted my latest post on the Swans thread for a second, I was confused when it updated 😂

I actually dont see Florent being in our best 23 he's a horrible defender and dosnt man up he will get completely found out at carlton

He was a permanent fixture in John Longmire's team for his whole career at the Swans until this year when a new coach took over. He suddenly hasnt become a shit player at 26 years old after 168 games AFL games.

Isnt Rowbottom adamant that he doesnt want to leave the Swans?

I think he will go elsewhere but net us a second rounder pick so we can match dean and ison bids.

Haha keep posting in here, swan supporter’s seem to chat like normal people
Most of us are pretty reasonable, though our trade thread has got a bit heated. I had to go away from it at times :$

He is but who knows what’s gonna happen though. I feel like it’s going to be Hayward, would explain why we brought in Rosas, who is a ready made replacement

I understand he's not a shit player just dont think the club should be on the hook for he's 4 year contract.
He is not a superstar and could as easily fall out of favour at carlton also

Hey mate what's the go with Florent? How much money would he be on and why has he fallen out of favour

I’m not 100% sure regarding the money side of things, Hairy Biker may know more.

He was one of Longmire’s favourite’s but hasn’t clicked with Cox. He’s a confidence player and lost that when Longmire moved on. He was one that probably shouldn’t have got a long term contract though looking back

Florent would be an upgrade on Saad for me next year. Not sure I'd have Newman in my best team either in 2026.

I can see Newman mirroring Doc somewhat in 2026. A year off, wrong side of 30. Next year will be his last

He clearly desperately wants to stay. Lets just hope the Blues and him can come to some sort of arrangement to keep him 1 more year.

Seems a good kid who's lost his way, not like he's Bailey Smith who's a genuine pos.

Elijah has had multiple chances at 2 different clubs, some of his reported issues no different to Smith’s over the years. We actually don’t know if he’s a good kid. We just hope he is because he’s a damn good footballer.

Voss’ staunch statement along with some of the rumours floating around makes me think perhaps not. He is such an important part of our lineup and our future and they’re still asking him to look for a new club? And he doesn’t seem to have many suitors.

Would love for him to stay if possible but if he is unreliable and a potential distraction even after all the support, move him on.
