Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Got a big feeling that one of Walter (with JUH coming in) or Bailey (everything mentioned) have to be the guy/s involved to break open this Charlie/Swans deal. They need more firsts and that Pick 10/11 could be the tough call they need to get Zeke/Patterson etc and still get Trac.

My best throw at the stumps with a few days to go:

Swans give: Hayward, Pick 10, Pick 32, F1
Swans get: Charlie, 67

Suns give: Humphrey, Pick 29
Suns get: Pick 10, Pick 11 (TDK compo)

Blues give: Charlie, Pick 11 (TDK compo), 67
Blues get: Hayward, Humphrey, F1, 32

Overs to us? Yep. Deal that blows us away? Also yes.
Who gets 29?

Theres always gems to be found, but the Suns would likely prefer the proven talent in Trac to go with their academy kids even if it means overpaying.

They've got picks coming out their arse thanks to the AFL, no need to worry about overpaying when they've got an infinite supply of them.

Speaking of which, expect the AFL to eventually shit themselves that they’ve made an Interstate club too powerful

At this stage I think the Curnow deal happens because clearly the Swans have committed by starting to move on their own players or gauging interest.

The final deal is up in the air. But I am convinced it will be significant

More chance that Elon Musk decides he's getting too rich for his own good. The AFL will ride them home until the Lions and them dethrone rugby in QLD no matter how disastrous it is for VIC clubs in the process.

How does that get us Dean and Ison? Not sure. Picks in for Acres/Gov/Binns I suspect.
Who gets pick 29?

when talking about "equality", there are no interstate clubs. There are only AFL clubs. There are no statelines in AFL. The only time interstate matters is when State of Origin is played. The only state that continues to sook about "interstate" is South Australia and Stephen Rowe.

My issue with this comparison is, I can’t remember Adelaide losing a bunch of players either.

They added those players to what they had.

I’m happy to get Reidy, Chesser and Ainsworth but that just partly replaced the loss of TDK, SOS, possibly Hollands, Gov and Durdin.

We need to keep adding
How many games did JSOS, Hollands & Durdin play this year?

Unlike many I want to keep Charlie. Just need him uninjured and with support in 2026.

Media keeps saying Cats, so if Geelong decide they need to deal what can they offer? Can't see any players we want being given up by the Cats, so can they add any picks/players from other clubs to add/upgrade the 3*Rnd1 offer? Still seems unlikely and hopefully CFC say no!

If it were Sydney, they could be offering Florent to clear cap space (to us or anyone else to get another F1/F2), Hayward, 11, F1. Without being silly, it does not seem compelling, but possibly fair?

If GC got involved late, Walter and Humpries for CC and a pick swap of 11 for 15 would also work? But goes against media chat. Adding Petracca and Curnow to replace both those younger players gives GC a stronger flag opportunity in the next 4 years, with more academy talent to come... (scary).

Just 'love' how various outlets are reporting that CC is willing to 'take a million dollar paycut' to get out of CFC. Do they not understand what a 'front loaded contract is..?

Anyone listen to the Trade Radio interview with Ainsworth? Was good to listen to

He memntioned that he is chatting to Humphrey to help him thorugh some family issues. first and foremost hope BH is OK but having Ainsworth at the club would make a move to carlton easier if he has an older mate at the club already.
JSOS to Flanders…?

Hurry Up GIF

I don't think we want a direct replacement for Charlie, our forward line was not working the way it was. In a perfect world, I think Ainsworth provides us with a good high half forward who covers alot of ground, harry as the big forward, moir as a leading marking small. Unfortunately for whatever reason E Hollands removes some X factor but hopefully Humphries adds that plus some.
There is also the option that Charlie plays at CHF. Can wheel & deal all he likes from out there.

Edited post - us in place of that 32. Fairer for Swans and I think the Suns get good value for 10, 11 for BH and 29.

This is IF they really need the points.
SEN saying Melbourne won't trade Petracca unless Humphrey included. GC saying Humphrey not going anywhere. Also AFL want any deal for Charlie to go through at the last minute, meaning any deal we land would need to be at least three teams. Odds of BH landing with us look low to me.
