Another lot in Broadmeadows swinging machetes around sending people fleeing in to shops and pulling shutters down.

Also the 14 year old that nearly hacked a mans hand off at an Altona shopping centre has been released on bail (again) with the magistrate wishing him 'good luck'.

The last time Liam Neeson said that to someone they ended up going to Hell.

Also the 14 year old that nearly hacked a mans hand off at an Altona shopping centre has been released on bail (again) with the magistrate wishing him 'good luck'. In Victoria we prioritise violent thugs over the victims and community safety, every time.

The new police commissioner has a plan to be tough on crime. Apparently the new edict will have law enforcement saying "pretty please" instead of the old policy of just saying "please" when asking the kids to stop committing crimes.

I have the genuine belief this will turn things around.

AG will ensure the Magistrates will do the same, when they let the kids out on bail for the 30th, 50th or even 125th time.

Still working on a policy on handling kids who have been bailed 126+ times. I think it will involve wording along the lines of "C'mon, I really mean it when I say at some point we are going to stop letting you out with a warning".

What are juvenile prisons like these days? Holiday camps? Let’s not make it somewhere where they want to go to hang out and eat pizza!

I certainly hope it doesn’t take a politician or member of the judiciary being a victim of crime but the wet lettuce punishments and seemingly automatic bail for rehabilitation prospects is quite bewildering in terms of community safety.

Armed offender bailed in Hawthorn case. Fair dinkum. Did he get a lollipop on the way out too?

I think you are correct with your second paragraph.

Until these youths start offending or invading homes in suburbs the legal fraternity frequent like Kew, Toorak, Brighton and the like, soft magistrates will keep granting bail. If the youth who cut someone’s hand off with a machete committed that crime at Camberwell market rather than Central Square shopping Centre in Altona, do we think they would have been bailed?

They're calling it horrific and it could have been but I'm not sure the victim was injured.

Clearly a 3AW beat up. If the abc don't report on it, did it really happen? Jacinta says Melbourne is safe. Also Melbourne was just declared the happiest and most livable city in Australia.

Slashed at... no blood or obvious wound or even reaction to pain.

A mugging attempt?

Despite the admittedly grainy footage and blurred faces it would appear the victims were Asian, so either an attempted armed rob or a bit of bit of general Australian racism

Not a Sudanese in sight

On the lane leading to the Railway Station and the access out of that lane goes behind the shops on the Main Street so I would suggest plenty of CCTV coverage of the car.

Back in the day, that was one of the spots where the local dealers used to hang out. One of them was a woman dressed in a business clothes, who used to catch a train in about 6 p.m. and stood there for about 20 minutes and then caught the next train out

One might have been a bit cut but only minor.

A few hours earlier in the same area, an attempted home invasion where the robbers had machetes.

A terrifying attempted carjacking ended with a stab wound for one driver, with the moment she was approached by two men while parked in a business car park in Coolaroo caught on camera by a witness.
