This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

Stop trying to make Petracca happen, it's not going to happen.

I am going insane... A 'professional' football club is literally giving us the silent treatment and dead set not responding to a trade offer and WE are the bad guys for not negotiating with them?

Think this logic will eventually win out and will be traded. If I was a rational Bombers Member (yes rare but do exist), I would be completely pissed that the Board is making list management decisions and not allowing the List Management do their job.
They do indeed exist.

As I've mentioned before, a good mate of mine is one and his take on the offer is that it's fair but he'd like a tweak: Instead of the F2 in 2026 or 2027, he would like a second player.

He wondered whether Finn, who was asked the question at this time last year, would me more receptive to an approach this year. His reasoning is that we didn't play him in his best role as a tagger and Essendon would.

So, that would mean 9, F1, Finn and HH for Merrett.

Thoughts?

My guess is convincing Finn to join them would be the sticking point, as it was last year.

So is it a decent assumption that we've given Essendon this deadline so we can make a play for Humphrey tomorrow if the Dons decline? I hope so.. I can't get around much currency for a 30yr old.

Could be.

More likely to be a Carlton type trade where we trade Pick 9 for something else, like a F1 and F2.

I think the trac and bear ships appear to have sailed.

We can extract some value out of pick 9 though, something to work with next year.

We arent desperate for a player.

I don't think so, his manager seemed pretty resigned to the fact that Humphrey will be at the club next year.

Yeah - paying a first rounder for a contracted KPD and turning our future first into pick 8 from pick 14. Amateur stuff.
The turning pick 14 to 8 wasn’t even our decision. West Coast had the choice of taking our pick or Blues and luckily for us they chose poorly.

Love the reported 7pm deadline by MM if true. Our offer is slightly over but what you have to pay to prize away a A grade mid. If we add a lewis, srim or frenchy to the deal Andy Gowers can expect a Trent Croad trade style protests. The scum need to pi55 or get of the pot because sleepy mark has something cooking!

Realistically why would GC trade him. They are finally in the premiership window, he’s a very good player that’s contracted, bringing in Petracca also. I’m not sure gaining a handful of picks from us is worth more to them than having Humphrey firing all next year

Intuitively, my thinking is that a club will or has come knocking with a player for a trade knowing we are prepared to pay well for what we need. Might it be Sam Walsh?

if Merrett leaves who are their mids? Durham, Caldwell & maybe Parish if he isn't cooked?

I'd be investing time into Hustwaite over Shiel, Hobbs, Tsatas

not saying he has huge value, but "steak knives" is straight disrespectful.
We've made it very clear that we want to improve our midfield, we've lost Worpel and are still pushing him out the door. He has little value.
