And ANB finished top3 in Melbourne's best and fairest. Ah Chee outside the 10.For context, Alex Neal-Bullen was under contract and traded for pick 28.
Ah Chee is out of contract and we offered a future second and a future third.
So an equivalent, if not better offer, for a similar player in terms of age, ability and experience, who was out of contract.
Thats a very good question. I can see WCE, Port, Essendon and Carlton all having genuine interest in him, but I'm not sure any will want to upset the apple cart too much especially with 3 of them having highly rated NGA and F/S prospects over the next few years that they'll be relying on teams not bidding early on to acquire.More importantly the thread is all about ah chee
Where will he end up?
Ironic you called my post which wasn't incorrect a fib, then countered it with an actual fib!Hmmm... I'm not seeing where I used this word. Either way, a 2nd rounder and a favourable pick slide is more than fair for a bloke who almost won a Norm Smith medal last year.
The Dogs were asking for a similar price for Buku Khamis ffs. Ah Chee is a class player.
Correction. Your club thought it wasn't worth sliding.Ironic you called my post which wasn't incorrect a fib, then countered it with an actual fib!
Bottom line is no club thought Ah Chee is worth using a 1st rounder, including a slide... so Lions lose an uncontracted player for nothing in the PSD.

The entire industry suggests they wouldn't have. It's only Brisbane fans.Correction. Your club thought it wasn't worth sliding.
If you're going to be factual, don't make it sound like 16 other clubs would have done an Adelaide to Ah Chee.
The amount of hyperbole spoken by Adelaide fans in this thread is remarkable. It's quite telling really. The entire industry suggests they wouldn't have. It's only Brisbane fans.
Might be time for some self reflection.
It's only Brisbane's side that's ignoring reality. The amount of hyperbole spoken by Adelaide fans in this thread is remarkable. It's quite telling really.
Offering a fat 5 year contract to a reigning 2x premiership player and getting him to commit to you and then expecting a late 30s pick to cut the mustard in a trade... which club base is ignoring reality here. It's only Brisbane's side that's ignoring reality.

You are delusional if you think Ah Chee was ever going involve a 1st rounder from any club.Correction. Your club thought it wasn't worth sliding.

We were offering a pick in the 20's or a future 2nd & 3rd rounder.Offering a fat 5 year contract to a reigning 2x premiership player and getting him to commit to you and then expecting a late 30s pick to cut the mustard in a trade... which club base is ignoring reality here.

I'll pay thatWell we did just pick cotton..i mean indy cotton as a cat b player
And Carlton didn't give that as a fair value is a 3rd rounder for him, just like everyone is saying a fair value for Ah Chee is a 2nd rounder. Twomey was "shocked" Brisbane did do the trade. using your argument Cox played a PF against Richmond in comparison to his career, is he worth a 1st rounder????Hmmm... I'm not seeing where I used this word. Either way, a 2nd rounder and a favourable pick slide is more than fair for a bloke who almost won a Norm Smith medal last year.

Yes there could be a number of clubs pay the price he has put on his headThats a very good question. I can see WCE, Port, Essendon and Carlton all having genuine interest in him, but I'm not sure any will want to upset the apple cart too much especially with 3 of them having highly rated NGA and F/S prospects over the next few years that they'll be relying on teams not bidding early on to acquire.
What???? Your argument is Ah Chee kicked 4 goals in the Grand Final which was a lot more than his career average, Cox did the same in the PF against Richmond so did you also think Cox is worth a 1st rounder had Collingwood traded him then??? Carlton didn't overpaid for an uncontracted player so we did the same and both players are going to the PSD and will end at their nominated clubs with Bulldogs and Brisbane getting nothing....Huh??
Mason Cox pulling one elite game out of his arse in a final didn't change that he was practically useless 90% of his career. Completely different situations, Ah Chee is a genuinely good player who can play a variety of roles for Brisbane as well as performing in big games. What???? No wonder they asked for a 2nd rounder given he was contracted. Ah Chee isn't contracted and is a good role player, similar to ANB who was traded for pick 28 while contracted at the same age just last year. As Twomey said, he was "shocked" Brisbane didn't do the trade as it was reasonable, it wasn't like we offered a 3rd rounder.Mason Cox pulling one elite game out of his arse in a final didn't change that he was practically useless 90% of his career. As for the Buku business, Carlton didn't have the time or picks to sort out a deal as we were deep into negotiations with Sydney over Curnow. He's also contracted so will be back at the Dogs next year.
No it isn’t the thread has been how crom think not giving a fair tradeMore importantly the thread is all about ah chee
Where will he end up?
ANB isn’t a dual premiership player Cal was actually playing injured for most of the seasonAnd ANB finished top3 in Melbourne's best and fairest. Ah Chee outside the 10.
With 10 minutes to go your Manager added a 3rd round pick which are useless picks nowYou are delusional if you think Ah Chee was ever going involve a 1st rounder from any club.
Similar uncontracted players have fetched a 2nd rounder.
We were offered a 2nd & 3rd rounder & Lions got greedy, so lose him for nothing.
The facts speak for themselves.
You didn’t offer a pick inside 25 which most people thought was a fair tradeWe were offering a pick in the 20's or a future 2nd & 3rd rounder.
If you are you are going to whinge, at least get your facts right!
