It's not mischarterised. Brisbane shat all over Ah Chees trade request by being unreasonable.you would think adelaide supporters would be extremely happy considering theyve convinced themselves theyre getting a dual premiership player for free instead of feeling the need to continuously mischaracterise brisbane's conduct in this thread but each to their own.

You did. You clearly value Cal because you offered him a significant contract, then you treat us like dirt by offering the copper coins from you Datsun 200B's ashtray. Dom just smiled and said . . .keep your coins, you can use them for your next trade and walked off into the sunset hiding a smirk. Good on him.All most of us have done is push back against the accusations that Adelaide has done the wrong thing here.

Wot?They are standing up for Cal's children. As Ben Williams said, the kids will be TRAUMATISED FOR LIFE by Dom the Prick.
exactly! And then Dom said, no you can just keep itRubbish.
And you’re acting like Lions fans are thick headed and stubborn. Brisbane asked for a pick upgrade and a future 2nd. Then would’ve settled for two future 2nds likely to be mid to late 30’s.Provide another trade scenario where a club paid a 1st rounder for an uncontracted 28 year old role player.
Still waiting.
7 pick swap for 1st rounder isn't "significant". Do you think swapping pick 11 for 4 is "significant" lol."significant"
If the trade happened, 16, 17, 18 would all disappear to bids.

Thank you, Dom "the prick"exactly! And then Dom said, no you can just keep it
I dunno if anyone's said you're both wrong since this, but they each won 1 and there was a draw in the last 3 games. I'd also have much preferred losing to North last round of the year and playing through finals from 2nd.No they haven’t lol
Bris won 2 of the last 3 and drew one u moron
There are 3 picks between 16 and 23 that will be used in bids b4 23?You weren't asked for a first rounder straight up. You were asked for a 7 pick slideback, which is more like 4 picks once academy picks were matched.
Brisbane were incredibly reasonable.
You must be on ignoreWhen trading draft picks for the current year, recruiters would already have a pretty clear idea of who they would like to take and what positions they’re likely to fall in. They would also have a fair idea of what pick swaps they may consider doing at various times.
If the player/s you’re interested in has limited interests from the clubs around you, then sliding 4-5 spots is insignificant. But if the player/s you’re interested does have a lot of interest from clubs around you then that slide becomes really significant.
I would imagine, that if it was an insignificant slide, Reid would have done the deal. The fact that he didn’t, tells me they probably have some important plans for that pick.
So again, comes back to my original question. When in the past has a player of similar age, experience and ability been traded for anything involving first round picks?
Even this year, Jack Steele was traded for a third round pick. The Lions were being offered a better deal for Ah Chee than what the Saints accepted for Jack Steele.
You're forgetting one thing, Ah Chee is a good player whereas Steele is crap.Even this year, Jack Steele was traded for a third round pick. The Lions were being offered a better deal for Ah Chee then what the Saints accepted for Jack Steele.
Imagine equating the same numerical drop at the back end of the first round with the front/middle of it. The logic is so, so poor.7 pick swap for 1st rounder isn't "significant". Do you think swapping pick 11 for 4 is "significant" lol.
I will henceforth be referring to him as Dom "ABAB 's daddy" Ambrogio.Thank you, Dom "the prick"![]()
2027 we have a loaded KPP academy crop, headlined by U16 AA B&F winner Jackson Bridge. Any picks we hold will be used for matching bids.Brisbane are special you will find. In 2027 they will actually use the 2nd rounder... In 2026 they wont
We already have too many 3rd picks this year, that we can't take them all to the draft."Special" as in massive leg up in the draft lol. Then they should have asked for 2027 F2 and 3rd rounders this year for points if the 2026 F2 is useless to them, it definitely won't be useless to us.
Yes. You know you're being silly now. 16 to 20 is very different to 4 to 11.7 pick swap for 1st rounder isn't "significant". Do you think swapping pick 11 for 4 is "significant" lol.
But was there not an offer of pick 29 rejected?Sigh
Someone asked me to come back and address these two posts.

No one said a F2 was useless. It's worth valuable draft points. That is Adelaide supporters misrepresenting comments made in the media, and by extension, on here.
Dom Ambrogio clearly said in his post trade period interview, that an Adelaide F3 holds little to no value to us, as it is unlikely to carry any points due to compensation picks pushing out the later rounds. We only have to look at Adelaide's 2025 R3 pick 55, as an example of a R3 pick that holds no points value.
If we apply this years ladder to 2027, as seen in Lore's excellent Future Picks Resource, which incorporates Tasmania's 6 priority picks, Adelaide's 2027 R2 pick currently falls at pick 40.
Resource - FUTURE PICKS (THE YEAR AFTER) 2027 Provisional AFL Draft Order - updated throughout the trade period!
FUTURE PICKS This thread is for the 2027 Draft Order. Through the trade period I will try and keep it as up to date as possible, but I am one person so please be patient. I have also set up threadmarks on the round updates, and will do the same through the trade period as picks change hands...www.bigfooty.com
So Brisbane's compromise request of 2026 and 2027 R2 picks from Adelaide seems perfectly reasonable, when we look at the possible raw number of each pick, 2026 pick 32 before compensation picks push the second round out, and pick 40 in 2027 before compensation picks push the second round out.

So in possible projected raw numbers, we were willing to accept a late pick in the 30's and a mid 40's pick for Ah Chee. Which using the current DVI, and adding the potential two picks together (I used picks 38 & 46) values AH Chee at about an early 30's pick (~pick 32).

You're getting a 2 time premiership player. You should have to trade something mildly significant to get him. And no, pick 40 next year is not that. When trading draft picks for the current year, recruiters would already have a pretty clear idea of who they would like to take and what positions they’re likely to fall in. And he was a handy one at that. He was the player of the 2024 finals series. So not just an "also ran" premiership player. He was a significant contributor. A very significant contributor. You're getting a 2 time premiership player. You should have to trade something mildly significant to get him. And no, pick 40 next year is not that.
Perfectly laid out, can only hope people put in the time to read this. Also pretty much all that needs to be said from a Brisbane point of viewSigh

Um, I don't know if you noticed, but we're not the same people. Danog and I are two different posters. It’s funny how the same people consistently saying “he’s a 2 time premiership player” as if that makes him more valuable than anyone else, will also completely dismiss a guy who has been AA twice, won 2 B&Fs and captained his club as “crap”.
Ah Chee is better than all of them except perhaps Macrae, who by the end of his time at Bulldogs wasn't playing well so they couldn't really ask for much, and he was older when he moved.Asking a club to give up consecutive second rounders for Ah Chee would have been overs, based on precedents set.
I’ll give you some:
Steele for a 3rd rounder
St Kilda gave up pick 45 to get Macrae.
Carlton gave up pick 38 to get Matt Kennedy.
Yeah we can. We have freedom of speech.Brisbane can ask for more, but you can’t run around calling the other team unfair because they said no.
Suffer in your jocks. It’s especially hard to take from a club that has had so many more more advantages with list management than us.
