It’s funny how the same people consistently saying “he’s a 2 time premiership player” as if that makes him more valuable than anyone else, will also completely dismiss a guy who has been AA twice, won 2 B&Fs and captained his club as “crap”.

Asking a club to give up consecutive second rounders for Ah Chee would have been overs, based on precedents set.

I’ll give you some:

Steele for a 3rd rounder
St Kilda gave up pick 45 to get Macrae.
Carlton gave up pick 38 to get Matt Kennedy.

Brisbane can ask for more, but you can’t run around calling the other team unfair because they said no.

It’s especially hard to take from a club that has had so many more more advantages with list management than us.

Steele has fallen off a cliff, is 2 years older than Cal, and was actively pushed out of St Kilda. His AAs that you reference were from 5 years ago.

Cal’s value is current. The Crom have offered him 5 years on good money.

The trade offer you made for Cal does not reflect this. The Crom wouldn’t have walked Cal to the PSD without his permission, so there was clearly no onus on them to offer a fair trade. If Cal had refused to go via PSD you would have agreed to one of our proposals.

Most clubs outside of Crom and Essendon trade in good faith and reach the middle point of a players worth in deals like this in the knowledge that they have to continue to exist within the same closed ecosystem in the future and it’s all swings and roundabouts. Crom seem to have severe PTSD from the Gibbs debacle.

I’m fine with the Lions taking the position they have and getting nothing for Cal. What GRINDS MY SNUFFLEUPAGUS is the make believe from the Crom that they totally offered a fair trade and totally didn’t just say hey take this or psd.

I never argued he was an amazing player, just better than Caleb Daniel. I don't really know who you're arguing with at this point.

Nobody is arguing against this, the disagreement is on the value. A very good role player in most people’s opinions I would assume is worth two future seconds likely to be late 30’s.
