Didn’t mind Task but in the end fairly straight forward bikie crime show. Two leads very good.

Just got on to Blue Lights based on recommendations on here and have watched first three eps…very good

Platonic (S1)

trigger warning: sidewalk scooters should not watch this show

Felt like it got off to a tepid start in the first two episodes, understandably as these are two besties who had a falling out, and are now awkwardly reuniting whilst in their respective housewife and divorcee ruts.

But with that setup out of the way it takes flight and the next couple episodes are consistently hilarious (genuine lols) and worthy of Byrne-Rogen, count me as a fan!

Re- watching True Detective Season 1 and just finished episode 5.

I forgot how good is is. It’s peak television.

One thing I had forgotten that really amused me on this viewing is that when Marty gets kicked out of home for cheating his wife left his clothes at the front door for him. In the scenes after that every time you see Marty he’s wearing ill fitting clothes from when he was a teenager/young adult and Star Wars t-shirts etc. Pretty funny

Ed Gein. The one tone depiction by Hunnan makes him weird but not interesting. I thought it showed some promise when Hitchcock and the Perkins characters appeared but those subplots were quite dull. Psycho was a fictional story with horror moments but this show is depicting real life murders in a drama show - so the violence feels gratuitous. Binned it after 3 episodes.

watching first season of true detective, from a dvd found in a thrift store.

it's good. delivering it post-fact is a nice different angle. my small complaints are, how the interviews of woody/matt are propelled along. you wanna talk about this, ask me that, yada yada. they are functional interruptions to remind you of the the process currently happening - the show is pausing to fart.

matt/rustin treads mighty close to the tortured genius detective cliche. the guy is basically a police officer House MD. insomnia, atheist, do some stuff off the book.

aside from those quibbles, excellent

Even you've said it. It's the two leads and also hats off to Maeve's character too. It's not about the plot but the writing and characters just shining through the screen.

Finished Succession with the missus

flipping quality television that.

Thinking we will jump onto Task now

Just finished Task, enjoyed it.

Murdaugh up next.

Task is finished with the last episode dropped today. Nailed the finale in what was a top notch 7 episode contained mini series.

I highly recommend it.

Going to watch that episode today. I've thoroughly enjoyed it (if enjoy is the word...).

Buckled under the pressure of myself - thought I wasn't going to do it this year to change things up.... but I have started the Seinfeld marathon. I should finish it well before Christmas, but we'll see. I intend on following it up with Curb Your Enthusiasm for and end of year/start of the new year viewing - it would be my first CYE marathon incorporating the final season as well.

Good ep. For some reason I thought last week was the last ep. Must have thought it was a six part series. This ep finished it off well

Yeah it's really good, although Matty McCs highly mannered/method style of acting occasionally drove me nuts.
Woody is always good value, although he always acts like he's got a golf ball in his mouth.
Season 4 with Jodie Foster is not bad, very atmospheric and dark (Jodie Foster in sex scenes was not on my bingo card).

Talamasca - Stan

Started the 1st episode of this Ann Rice adaptation of her story about a secret group of Vampire/Ghoul hunters set in modern times

Has potential - but whether that potential is bad or good I am yet to decide. There are some soapy elements to it but it held its ground fairly well

My only frisson is how half the actors look like famous actors and we are getting the look-a-like version of them because costs
