Is there anything available to the public confirming Clarke was contracted for 2026? From what I remember amongst the speculation is that Hansen and Hamill were the two assistant coaches still contracted for 2026 at the club.

They don't make that publicly available... but usually they're short term.

From what I understand, they need to be notified by a certain date and if not, you either keep them on or pay them out 6 months minimum. So chances are, with all the other changes being made, finding a replacement coach and then having to pay him out as well wasn't ideal.

And it is an arbitrary number.That's a fact. Just because someone has been in a role for a certain amount of time doesn't mean they have to be replaced with a fresh voice. If they're getting results year on year then why wouldn't they be able stay on for as long they want, just like Lappin at Geelong?

10 years is a long time to be associated with a group.... that's also a fact...

If they're getting results... well yeah... that was my point... he isn't and I listed the reasons why... clearances were never part of the discussion...

Can you actually point me to anything based on fact that supports the idea that Clarke needs to be replaced or is somehow doing a bad job?

Seems like you've literally just made up that he was contracted and that's why the club has decided fo keep him on because you choose not to believe that he was kept on due to being good at his job 😂

You don't know his contract status either. It's called joining the dots and using common sense...

Its called make believe. I haven't claimed to know if he's contracted or not, you have.

Well that's what I believe based on the situation. If someone doesn't get fired, usually it's because they're contracted... but it's not even the main point.

You have done nothing to counter the points I made about his performance... you want to talk make belief, how's bringing up clearance numbers when I never did even once... you can't counter all the points I actually raised... so you made something up...

Why? You do realise if you terminate someone on a contract you have to pay them out yes? Given we made a plethora of changes already ( and some were forced ) we can't go getting rid of everyone without finding replacements and making all these payouts...

The fact that they brought in another person to assist with midfield coaching goes to show the club understand the flaws anyway...

You do realize you're still speaking about something you have no idea about yes? None of us have a clue if he was contracted or not and none of us have a clue if he was due a payout if he had have left. You're literally just making it up.

And I haven't made up anything, Clarke is in charge of clearance and stoppage work in 2026. Hence it's relevance.

Over his tenure we have been a very strong clearance and stoppage team, one of the best in the league in fact. There is every chance he was retained due to his strong performance in this area.

Its okay to just say you don't like the bloke and want him fired, but making up nonsense about a contract that may or may not exist helps no one.

So is Boak still coming to coach at the blues? If he is playing local footy.


I'd assume he'll play when available. Country footy still mostly 2:00pm Saturdays with the occasional Friday or Saturday night so suspect he'd be available for a lot of games.

Given our record - I'm sure he'll be available to play in September ! :D
 
Gia gone to the Hawks. A very experienced assistant. I wonder if we tried to get him. Feels like we missed out given he was clearly on the move.
