If you watched Jonty play you could see he had what it takes. Incredibly competitive/ will not be beaten
I watched him in the pouring rain the game Lalor did his hammie
Jonty controlled the game at CHF
Lalor kept going with a bad hammie too

Even that Eagles game where he kicked a couple. He looked like a potential leader. Shanahan was a great get for Eagles last year and probably had the better season overall, but Jonty was the better forward that day between the 2.
We also couldn't overlook Armstrong, it was a no brainer imo.

I think in a AFL club with more aerobic training and coaching he has a massive ceiling
playing foward he looked like Logan Morris and was very physical against grown me.
Good shout. I’m somewhat skeptical a to whether he’ll make it as a mid/forward, but reasonably confident he’d make it as a medium/3rd tall forward as a worst case scenario.

The Age mock having us take Robey has made my day

This bloke is a rolls royce .

Thinking about him swapping onball and fwd with Lalor for richmond, like he did with Ollie Greeves for Eastern is a dream scenario

Give them a few pre seasons and they will absolutely monster teams

Its like having 2, three quarter dusties ( 2 x .75 = 1.5)

fingers crossed it all works out, McGowan gets good mail, all we need is for Twomey to confirm it !

I get that whole argument. But the history books will say Richmond took picks 5/6/7/8 or whatever the two picks end up being.

(Plus, fair chance a ruck (CDT) and key back (Dean) are in those top few too!)
those picks are really 3 and 4 with a fake number slapped over the top due to cheat academies

Lalor just started following Robey on Instagram

His foward craft resembles Morris but has some good mid attributes and just monsters the men at the lower level
I was very surprised with how hard he went in in that game.
I think his speed is fine but could be improved and has scope for improvement in alot of area's in his development yet to come. Pick #3 is a big price to pay but he certainly has star factor and with Smillie , Lalor would be a great player in rotations.

Imagine having Faull / Armstrong in the foward positions
Then you have a 197cm Smillie 194cm Robey 188cm Lalor drifting in and out of there creating Havoc

No expert, but:
Last year Sims was talked about as a ruck forward. Great leap, good athlete, good hands. So, at his hight likely B grade ruck and good to very good KPF.
CDT is really fast, i.e. faster than Grilj fast, good skills and a good ruck and KPF. So he could easily become at least a B grade ruck, B grade enormous mid, and B grade KPF. Almost a unique set of traits in an AFL ruck - very unusual at least.

Basically CDT has more strings to his bow and higher ceiling, but in many ways similar.
Cheers mate. Was thinking about the balance of our team if CDT fell to our picks and also if he went to some other team.

We went pretty big last year on KPF but the only guy who can ruck was Sims.

I don’t get the hate with Taylor.
Broad was open when he re-signed that it’s probably his last contract. Even if he does re-sign it won’t be more than 1 year deals.
What’s our mid sized defender depth? Taylor makes sense to me
It doesn't make sense to draft for a line which is already our strongest and deepest. Especially at picks 3 and 4. We have Miller Gibcus Balta Trainor to take us forward plus smaller players in Brown (still 192cm) and Banks (188cm). Vlas will play another couple too.

It should be mids all the way at pick 3 and 4, who in Robey, Cummings and Grlj arguably have more strings to their bow as players. And a small fwd or wing for good measure if we can.

26 and under team

Trainor
- Miller - Banks
Gibcus
- Balta - Brown
Retchko - Lalor - Ralphsmith
Hotton - Faull - Robey
Rioli - Armstrong - Alger
CDT - Smillie - McAuliffe - Ross
Sims - Gray - Green - Mansell - Clarke

13 players selected wit picks 30 and under
It's getting there...we just need a couple more dips for depth plus a couple of free agents.

We do have some players like Smith , Sonsie as well as Kellaway types we will get later in the draft but just wanted to see what it would look like with CDT/Robey

But looking at that list i can certainly see a spot for a player like harry Scott and what he would bring and is really not that far off the younger players drafted in 2024 age wise
