Perfectly put.So what? Would you prefer we pick somebody we actually don't want as much because other clubs/media outlets think those are better options?
Kozzy wasn't even in the top 30 for a lot of the mock drafts. Every player is "speculative". You just want to rage about the same things over and over from whichever angle suits you.Which seems an outlier and not the general concensus, can’t afford to piss away more first rounders on reach/speculative players where we think we see something other clubs don’t.
Cal Twomey, knows his stuff, gets tons of intel, probably the best in this part of AFL media. 1 month out from the 2019 draft didn't even have Kozzy in the top 30 picks. What a wild "reach"...

Think it's also one area of our club that doesn't leak much, purely because of the main people involved. I think just the realistic list becomes clearer a bit later. They've got a list of 7 apparently that they think will be available at our two picks and usually they'd have it in preference order. Only curve ball could still be a late pick trade for Robey, which is not completely out of the question still IMO.One thing I've noticed as well is we seem to take a while to decide who we actually want with early picks. Oliver was a bit of a bolter in 2015 from memory, then Jackson/Pickett 2019, Tholstrup in 2023. If the media is linking us to Nairn now I've got no doubt we will take him.

A11dAtP0w3RWe were linked to Leake as well and didn’t take him thank ****
I still believe, we should have traded for him this trade period. But hes probably going back to Tassie when they eventually get a team anyway.
I havent watched a game on him yet. Excited to have a look tonight to see how much we are going to **** this up.One thing I've noticed as well is we seem to take a while to decide who we actually want with early picks. Yep and thats why im not that high on both of them. Prefer to shoot for the stars with top 10 picks, take the biggest upside and hope you can develop them to get there. Watch Nairn, he could be anything if all goes right, at worst I think he still ends up best 22 as a medium forward.I think the problem with who players like Sam Cumming , Jacob Farrow and others we have been linked to. They look like the honest players but they don’t seem like players they will dominate in big games. There’s a huge difference in top 5 picks and players around top ten. St kilda has done this for years.
We are idiots if we take Nairn with pick 7 or 8. Better off splitting a pick and grabbing a pair of him and Pickett
He doesn't have concerns, he's just setting himself up for later on where he can complain all season about us not splitting the pick and magically make up players who we could have drafted. What are your concerns re Nairn as a player compared to other players supposedly around the 7/8 mark?

If he's one that Taylor has earmarked for one of our picks, I'd prefer we didn't try to get cute and trade back. Having now watched a few of his highlight videos, I'm super impressed. He's a smooth mover with some of the best overhead marking I've seen from this year's crop. His kicking looks great too, but I didn't see much in terms of penetration. Most of his kicls he seems to either be hitting up short targets or kicking for goal within 40 metres but did both superbly. What are your concerns re Nairn as a player compared to other players supposedly around the 7/8 mark?

Him being a medium sized forward, would feel like we are drafting for need opposed to best available. Even Marsh would be a better option as he has a bit more size.
Where our list is at, we should be going for absolute best available opposed to getting cute and trying to reach players based on need. It backfires more than it works doing the reach and Nairn clearly hasn’t been rated in top 10 by anyone until that article came out about us stretching for him.
It's all a setup Dr. Don't bother. How do you know Nairn isn’t ’absolute best available’ in the eyes of MFC recruiters?
I reckon we would be trying for that too, although Robey will go so early that we would have to do a deal with West Coast to get him.I get a feeling if we have been super keen on Robey then we’ll try trade up for him. Just my thoughts
