Well they have like 12 people on their task force “Horizon”.

I would think they have the resources with 12 bodies on board the team to enable them to capture and analyse the CCTV and satellite data???

Or maybe they’re waiting on a report from Star Link 🔗 and the private company is not cooperating?

A question for those who know about snakes. If there's a snake already at the dirt pile when Gus approached the snake might go at him but if Gus was there playing and making noise and ground vibrations would the snake not approach the dirt pile?

Grandma may have checked the dirt pile before Gus went there.

Could satellite see vehicles/motor bikes/horses driving on the property? If so, how long are the images kept? Could the police access these images or are they owned by the satellite company? For example, could the satellite have images of Jess and Josie working with their sheep? Pine Gap has very powerful satellite connections.
 
Hmm, this is just eerie. While my opinion is that if we ever find out what happened to Gus, based on usual circumstances and precedent it will be due to human agency.

However, there are exceptional cases which can occur from time to time. I`m still thinking about Patrick Hildebrand who disappeared on a walking trail suitable for children, just ahead of one of his sisters when he went around a bend.

From what I`ve read in a couple of different sources, his family especially his mother were too close not to have missed a stranger carrying him away or grabbing him to take away when they joined the sister. It just was not the kind of trail where he could be concealed when the family quickly arrived at the point he should have been when he rounded that bend.

I also recently was chatting with somebody I know whose deceased father as a young policeman worked in an outback area somewhere in Australia. Her father was a very rational person and very skeptical about anything that didn`t fall within normal parameters. He believed that the simplest, most logical explanations were the truth.

But he told her that he had a few strange experiences in the outback which he could never explain including odd lights in areas with no military installations nearby and no mines or natural features that could be the reason they were around.

There were also areas where the local Aboriginal people didn`t like going or avoided altogether and while he put it down to their beliefs at first, he said in one such place he and his fellow officer literally felt anxious for no visible reason and had goosebumps on what was a very hot day.

I don`t know if that area in Yunta has anything unusual connected with it but while it seems very unlikely, perhaps Gus` case does fall into that rare unexplained category.

Yes, I think satellite can and you can get lucky even searching online for them.

I'm pretty sure satellite images have been known to be good enough to capture images of the make and model of vehicles, not sure about license plates.

I hope this is the public impression but behind the scenes the police are all over the situation.
Just don’t see this as a lost situation at all.

Officially, he's lost but you're right that the police will be all over the situation.

The only thing I'd be fairly sure of after going through that area recently, is that they would have found him if he simply wandered off over open ground, even if the last sighting of him was hours before and not in the half hour window put forward.

The foster parents presented themselves as William's parents when in fact they weren't. The media were in on this. I think the lie did affect William's case.
Their faces were hidden in interviews and all we saw was the back off their heads. They are, and continue to be, faceless, continually changing their stories.
The carers were ruled out until years later one wasnt.

I get the same vibe from Gus's family. While it could be, or is, innocent, i don't feel that it is, yet again.
Its the silence. Might be on advise from Police so I'm just saying how it appears to me by what information has been provided.
The mum and Grandmas might be private people but the dad too?
Something feels off.

What do these 2 cases have in common so far? 2 little boys still missing.

All of this is in my opinion.
I'm saying how I view it.

Absolutely, worked with David Kilcullen (very verrrrry briefly) and he showed me footage of a market on Afghanistan where they picked up a suicide bomber on satellite, purely from the gait and footsteps going against the crowd, extraordinary stuff.

Snakes will typically move away from noise (vibrations) so I it wouldnt normally approach. A dirt pile is not the most likely resting spot, although after brumation, anywhere like that might be nice for a Kip.

No, lte 4g technology is very advanced, if / when a device is turned "off" the last ping is established, same as when turned on again. Carrier data from cell tower sees as last location. However a turned on device is so much better than a turned off device to track.

SAPol had the military on the property for a bit so they might have been using some kind of high tech equipment.
