His photo is up everwhere, he's got a head full of curly bright gold hair and a distinctive smile that the public has, who of course if he's spotted anywhere out there, I'd expect he'd be taken straight off the person who's got him and held until the cops get there, taking every opportunity to give them a kick in the ribs. Probably ...

If the cops start focusing on an abduction theory, someone in the family might be advised to do a presser.
Yes he’s a distinctive looking child, and his photo is everywhere.

But his hair….Hair is temporary.

Gus would look a lot different if, say, his head was shaved.

You may remember Cleo Smith’s hair was changed by her abductor.

IMO

But I think it might be possible that someone might have taken him imo.

They’ve had no cameras or any surveillance at the house up until now-ish.

I can't see anybody managing to sneak up to that property, not without someone seeing a vehicle or bike, noticing wheels spinning up a heap of dust or hearing it.

Possible? Maybe but highly unlikely.

Was the snake said to be on the verandah?
The first mention of a snake was by the female SAPOL assistant commissioner. She (rather stupidly imo ) said Josie had the gun because she was ‘despatching a snake on the porch’ .

When I saw the video it was my opinion that Josie came out to the front verandah with the gun to yell at the reporter, even though Shannon told her she had it under control ( she had told Jonica no comments and asked her to leave, which was in the process of happening)

I didn’t think for a minute that ‘the snake’ was on that front verandah. I thought it must have been ‘despatched’ from elsewhere before Josie came out to the front.

Anyway, I’m sick of talking about the snake & the gun. It has nothing to do with finding Gus.

A shaved head would get attention but there is still his smile and and those big brown eyes.

If he was taken, I think he'll be found. Anybody who travelled through is going to get caught on CCTV eventually and their phone will ping on towers.

There aren't as many traffic monitoring cameras out there but there's quite a lot of cops I noticed. I'm not sure if they've been ordered out in numbers in a show of higher visibility and to pull people over but I've never seen so many on outback roads before.

They don't have to say anything and the public can't help at all in the circumstances of a child wandering off on such a massive sheep station.

If that's what has happened, tough, hard nosed farmers in the outback would know there's no point.
What if that didn't happen?
What if Gus reached the 'main' road and was abducted.
I dont know if it's when children in outback or regional areas that police always assume that they have wandered off and other scenarios are investigated too late, evidence lost.

I also think it's the dad keeping quiet that I'm now questioning.
If he doesn’t get on with his partners family does it prevent him from speaking about Gus's disappearance?
No 'I'm hoping that my son is found safe, I'm praying he's ok'

If the whole family also believe he has wandered off then why say anything to the media what would it achieve. People are underestimating how remote this place is and how very little traffic would pass in a day or even a week.

But why?

I don't think he's gone back to his house and Gus's mum has left with the baby so they're probably together.

For all we know, the cops have told them not to talk to the media.

That's what I saw as well

They haven't searched much of the property. Why not test the narrative of experts who say Gus is way further out from the homestead. There is a point in locating a body. IMO

There’s no proof Gus wandered off. Nothing, no evidence. No tracks, and one footprint that may have been discounted.

But I think it might be possible that someone might have taken him imo.

Anyone could have turned up, taken him, put him in their car and taken off with him.

IMO

How do the Murray family “know” that no one abducted Gus? How do they know?

How do they know they don’t need help from the public?
Yes they seem absolute on both counts.

Yes neither is mum

If police knew more than you/we do and chose to keep it close, would that change your IMO?

Are you an inductive/abductive or deductive logic kind of person?

I would find it hard to believe that cops would tell them not to speak to the media.
It’s usually the opposite, like yeah go for it. Look how many dumb perps have been caught after talking to the media.

I understand how remote this place is.
I'm just wondering if the scenarios of wandered, abducted, accident, and incident kicked in on day one.
What's next if the footage they have comes back with nothing?
More drones? Would drones even pick up anything after this long?
Search wider? Other properties?
Check the homestead inside outside again?
Bring the family in for questioning? Separately?
Has that been done? Have they gone to the station for statements?

I wouldn't, especially if they're not suspects and this isn't the city or a country rural town. It's the outback. There's nobody around, even on the made roads you can drive for 100km and not see another vehicle.

If they do speak all it's going to do is create a lot of speculative internet chatter, the 'body language experts' will be all over it and it could potentially be very distracting making things harder for the cops.

As of tonight the thread is up to page 55 and no outcome in sight. The William Tyrrell tread ran to three parts over 12 years the last part (page 1-237, ended on page 237 and no William. No arrests, no nothing. Let's hope history is not going to repeat itself.

Personally I think not speaking out is a choice the family has made and I can see why. I think all of us plus the elephant and the snake quietly get it. Many uncouth phobic Aussies simply cannot control themselves for the sake of little Gus.

Another story by the Daily Mail.

Gus' Dad Josh appears to be now living in Adelaide in a house owned by the grandparents Shannon and Josie.

Gus's mother Jessica has not been seen publicly since he disappeared.

Which experts say this?
The only experts I have read about being brought in by police have said Gus couldn't have got very far from where he was last seen.

If speculation is troubling the family, I guess they could arrange for a (carefully written) statement to be published or read out on their behalf? That would remove the 'body language' interpretation. It could clearly state the family's position.

I don't see how that makes it 'harder' for the cops - the cops could review the statement and edit out anything they don't want said publicly.

The silence is not exactly 'helping' anyone at the moment. Certainly not Gus.

I agree imo

There’s not a lot of information in the public.
Maybe other people/s were on or staying on the property.
