I really haven't followed the draft much at all this year but I feel like Dovaston might have a pretty low ceiling.
I think some people look at him and think of Nick Watson but he doesn't seem to be as quick or have the foot skills that Watson has so what is left? Good defensive intent but maybe not the pace to be elite defensively, footy smarts and clean ball handling skills but maybe not the skills to make limited possessions count.
I feel like he is a kid who has realised that to get drafted he needs to become one of the best U18 small forwards and has worked hard to become that but might not have the weapons to really impact at AFL level.
I could be completely wrong but I would prefer others at our pick if he was available

I was not enamored by what I ve seen of master Dovaston but he does have a touch of class and smarts - quickly assesses the situation in traffic a good shot and team oriented. As a small crumbing forward he is better than what we’ve got - but lacks the x-factor magic of Watson

This is why I'd roll the dice on Pickett. If he is anything like his cousin (I think they're cousins) then he has a great ceiling. 20 years old so as an older option, he actually looks to have made his call on whether he wants to play AFL.

I hope Flea plays, but do we know that for sure? Dolan should play more. If VDM and McNeil are our starters, then shit has gone wrong.

Watching the Gettable draft preview, Dovaston doesn't look to be on Hawks radar either, and there's a real fast kid, I would imagine similar to that poor bugger who clashed with Williams, who we are keen on.

Good result for us. Now we just need them to finish bottom of the ladder and we will get butters as a FA. there is absolutely no chance they match the contract if they finish bottom of the ladder and have the NGA wiz to bid for. They’d essentially get the first 3 picks in the draft.

We should be death riding the absolute living heck out of Port in 2026. It will save us 3 x FRP.

Will also help the club sell the loss of Butters if they can bring a young homegrown gun into the fold

Unfortunately their draw is pretty tame for next year, at least on paper.

Yep they are better than Tigers, WC, North, Essendon at least. I have them in front of Melbourne and Carlton as well, possibly St Kilda too.

Obviously premiership player in year 2 but his real breakout year was his fourth year in 2018, was 22 and had played 60 games. Sad that he only managed 42 more
