The greatest thing is we finally have competent options right across the field, with some reasonable depth.

If our key players can stay fit and healthy we are capable of taking huge steps next season. All going well I think we will put the wind up the competition in a big way next year.

Hopefully with some consolidation in the senior side, the VFL can also turn things around and return to playing finals.

I see Hall and Wilson getting more time on ball leaving a big space forward for Pou to ease himself back in.

I'd love to get a 3 man swing with Pou, Naz & Owens rotating between deep forward, half forward and on ball. Three 190cm athletic freaks than can all take a mark, hit a target and play defensive if needed.
Wilson to play wing/hf with bursts on the ball.

Outside of that...

I reckon this looks more like this
Pou 70% fwd 30% on ball
Nas 60% on ball 40% fwd or back
Hall 70% fwd 30% on ball
Owens 80% fwd 20% on ball or ruck

Mainstay mids
Flanders (rotate back)
Windhager (rotate wing)
Macrae (rotate bench)
Garcia (rotate bench)

Backs who rotate on ball
Sinclair
Clark

One thing I love is the mix of strength and speed. For too long
Like the boys, crows and many other teams the midfield has been imo too one paced. Now with Naz Flanders McRae as our mainstays and all the guys rotating in we have much better balance.

Why is Hall seen as a H.F. & Wilson is not?
It should be Hall more in the midfield, especially after that Melbourne comeback win.
He was the most instrumental mid. in that final qrt.
Wilson is like a puppet on a string when on a wing, all gangly & awkward.
Put the goals in range & he just sniffs the sticks, much better suited there.

Think they're both HF players who can rotate through.

Pou is talented enough to play forward, but is abit lumbering in that position & abit short at 190cm.
Hoping he becomes an inside bull.
Nas can play anywhere he likes.
Owens field kicking is shite, so only see him as a pressure forward tbh.

Cho runs at 66% DE while Pou is as a whopping 67%.

Mitchito does so much work in the trenches inside 50 that I think his work up the field is under-rated.

I'd love some little swing teams/rotations in game.

Naz, Pou and Owens through the F50. Wilson, Wood & Hill across HF and wing. Sinc, Flanders & Clark on ball and halfback.

Macrae, Box & Windy then cover most of the CBAs.

TDK and RoMa alternate from FF to the ruck. Doogs can help out in D50.

Sharman and King both getting up the ground...

Tauru, JSOS and Howard all getting opportunities to play across halfback with Wilkie holding the fort at FB.

Boxshall can't 'takeover' Macrae's position next year, is because he's only a 19 y.o & we need Macrae's experience.
But, could see him & Macrae rotating through the midfield.
And Box & Pou will be given every chance to be the new Steele type.
I think we needed Macreas mature body more than anything. Same as Steele. The next gen have bulked up enough to handle them selves.

Along with the strength of the coaching group and the natural development of our midfield plus the addition of Flanders we will be fine with out him.

So, we recruited Macrae for 1 season in the 1st's is it? now he's pushed out already, while on a 3 year contract.
Fmd.
He was the best thing since sliced bread in the 1st part of last year with some fans here. Some even had him as recruit of the year at that stage.
Then RTB comes out & says that he can't see Macrae & Steele playing in the mid. together.
True to his word, he axes Steele at the end of the season.
Now you are head-hunting Macrae ffs.

People say Owens is a bull.
What size would he be now? 191cm-93kg, maybe
Pou would be? 190cm-90kg, that's a body for a human bull, maybe.
I maybe wrong but Owens would be way more than 3 kg's heavier than Poo ?

Be careful what you wish for , if you think we have moved past Macrae i think your getting way ahead of yourself

I get your points, and Macrea may be an important piece in us making finals. But I believe Macrea wont be in our best 23 at some point in the year.

How’s our fwd line going to structure up? Sounds like Ross wants Camma forward, but I can’t see a fwd lime with Canma, Marshal, King and Sharman - too tall and slow. I feel Camma and Marshall are playing for the same spot.

Camma in the 2s until an opportunity arrises

Hammer and Keeler fighting it out in the twos over whose next man in after Marshall King and Sharman

A good problem to have. If we have a good run with injuries, there will be a few players in this boat.

We have never had so much depth in a team before.

Mitch has a bullocking style. He seems one of those guys that is super strong for his size. You don't see him get taken down too often. Bont has it too. You can't bring him down easily despite his fairly slim frame.

Phillipou looks like he slips tackles and moves out of trouble so far but you can definitely see him bulking out.

Flanders is more inside outside to me. Garcia is probably the heir apparent to Macrae. His pace might make it possible to use him inside outside and leave Macrae in.Clubs still need at least one pure extractor.
