So the far more athletic, better skilled Addinsall is not worth a pick at 19 but we should reach on the less athletic less skilled Sharp at 2 because he’s a bit bigger.

I’ll go out on a limb and say Addinsall is more like to have an impact in the midfield next year than Sharp.

I have confidence as you’re more likely to be able to beat oppo mids through footy IQ/stoppage work as a 18yo than strength.

We shouldnt take sharp because he wont win us the premiership immediately because his type dont instantly fix teams, you use the injury argument to suggest an inside mid is useless to us this year somewhat based around a brownlow winner in Rowell doing a shoulder in an unlucky tackle. Then Addinsall cant even play champs because of hamstring injury but this is irrelevant somehow.

If you could be a little bit consistent that would be great. Have you watched Sharp play he reads the ball better than any player available this year and it isnt close.

I rate Addinsall but this is crazy.

Yeah, nowhere have I said Addinsall is likely to be able to play mid his first season and have an impact. I said he’s more likely than Sharp to simply due to their respective play styles and traits.

Addinsall has better stoppage work than Sharp, he reads the ball better which is why he’s able to rack up so many clearances against men despite his lack of comparative strength.

I don't think so. Suns prioritise Murray. I predict if Twomey Phantom draft is correct, Addinsall is all yours.

I just checked and we 'picked' Murphy Reid in Twomey's Phantom Draft last year.

Giving myself a stroke trying to figure out if that would cause random260 to melt or celebrate.

If there’s no bid on Banfield we could add him as a rookie

It’d just mean a 37/9/2 list split rather than 38/8/2

Rookies would be Hutchinson, Brock, McCarthy, Newton, Champion, Robertson, Macrae and Schoenberg. Banfield would be the 9th if he doesn’t fill the 5th and final main list opening

This list of rookies is a markedly improved floor for the side. A healthy competition for spots and workable talent.
Think 2026 will be a much more palatable year. Might not be huge in the AFL win column, but it won’t be 1. And the beagles should push up a few spots.

Addinsall is crafty but he's small and unathletic,

Err, posted a 6:15 in the 2km and finished top 10 in both jump tests.

He's also taller than Rowell and is quite muscular already.

Addinsall is stronger, higher iq, has a 6 pack, better disposal, better runner, gets more girls, is taller, and is just a better bloke overall.

I am no expert just watching academy kids in VFL. Murray was injured this year but most people value Murray very highly, more than Addinsall. Murray could be another Will Graham.

There will be very limited opportunities in Suns midfield for next 3 years. Good for Addinsall career to go somewhere else.

Personally, I am bit surprised that Addinsall will go in the first round. I guess it's a weak draft.

There is also a strong home factor attached to this year academy kids except Patterson. Those kids grew up supporting Suns, went together through academy and dreamed of playing together for Suns. Be aware in 3 years, haha. If he makes it.
