There is a clear expectation within the military that soldiers are expected to distinguish between lawful and unlawful orders. ignorance and blindly following the chain of command isnt an excuse. You can look this up, even ask your brother. Its why war crimes exist. Its because soldiers have either followed unlawful orders or commit them on their own. What the democrats video is trying to do is remind MAGA Soldiers who they swore an oath too.
 
The Nuremberg trials taught everyone that saying "I was just following orders" is not a valid excuse for comitting war crimes.

The Democrats are reminding American servicemen and women that they pledged an oath to the constitution, not the president.

The genuine fear I believe was created by the action of some ICE agents who clearly are breaking laws and as such it prompted the video out of fear MAGA soldiers will get power hungry if ever faced with orders that fall under a banner of waging war on democrats and those soldiers believe MAGA and Trump will look after them if they do so like they are in Trump's own private militia.

It's like how it's an absolute certainty when democrats regain power that countless ice agents will be held to account including jail lengthy jail terms and there will be no saving them.

Act tough now but Maga has a short life span ahead and there appears to be way too many young idiots not reading the room that don't realise there will be no Maga in 10 years let alone even 5.

Where did you get the info, I can not find any news source that has a quote from Mamdani about this, only fact checkers that claim this rumour to be false.

But there is no chance he can enforce it regardless. He would have to get teachers to agree to it. He can organise new laws but it has to pass. He can't just make something a policy and change curriculum. He isn't a teacher not how it works.

Maybe he wants to bring arabic as a language option into more classrooms?

Nooooo. This is fake news based on satire. It's a misinterpreted joke, that's now circulating to create outrage.

Numbers 1-9 are "Arabic numbers" by definition.

The first nine numbers used throughout all of the western world today have been referred to as Arabic numerals because they were introduced to Europe by Arab mathematicians in medieval times.

It's not even that. Not that there is anything wrong with additinal languages added to the curriculum, but, it was literally a joke/satire seemingly lost on many people.

Yes. It's primarily around Trump deploying the Narional Guard into blue cities. He doesn't have the right to use the NG like his personal militia.

I read it as a general reminder to all servicepersons, but especially those in the NG, that they pledged an oath to the constitution, not the president.

I think it was a joke about the people that are slapping a maga hat on a guy they've previously referred to as an islamic terrorist and not realising it's a self own.

It's nowhere near 99%. Humans are very good at telling the sex of other humans (and women are better at it than men).

It's not that "noone knows", it's that they do know, and they're too polite / frightened / intimidated to say anything.

What are we supposed to do - have facilities that are for "women only, and men who do a really good job of passing as a woman"?

Anyone see that stuff about Elon adding an account location feature to twitter? Turns out there are heaps of Maga accounts based in foreign countries. Not the least bit surprising. Just funny that Elon would add that feature then quickly pause the rollout when all these Maga accounts from Russia, India, Nigeria (lol) started showing up.

The US president is the commander-in-chief of the military. He exercises supreme operational command over it.

That’s a relevant point to this discussion because the bedwetters instructing military members to refuse orders are not doing so as a general instruction, they are doing so solely because they have political issues with the current commander-in-chief.

No matter what side of politics you sit on, you can surely see that should be condemned.

You do get it that it isn’t just “orders” it is “illegal orders”. He is not a dictator, if it is an illegal order it can be refused. His power is not absolute (even tho he thinks it maybe).

One word makes a massive difference in the context of what was said.

You seem to lack the basic comprehension skills to understand what was actually said.
