I really hope to see Bazzo and Brock make some progress this season. Bazzo was building in the back half of last year and was starting to look good.

Brock has the leg speed and left foot kicking to provide a point of difference to Harry Edwards who I just think is too slow for a KPD.

If Starcevich can be our Hodge type general in the backline, I think we could play Bazzo, Brock and Young in D50 and free up Hough and McCarthy to the wings and further up the ground.

I wonder if the new ruck rule will alter who we consider our number 1 ruck. It looks like the more athletic leaping ruckman will be more suited to the role. Bailey Williams would easily out jump Matt Flynn.
It will be interesting how the upcoming year unfolds.

Thanks to eDPS for compiling our list breakdown by position. I'm sure people have different views on positions, I do, but this is a nice way to see it with heights.

Yeah not great, Ginbey likely to play on key forwards rather than Maric ect ect.

would love for a Ruck to emerge for the msd or a Newcombe type (if Dev and co ain’t getting it done)

Interesting to note that as of Monday, we'll have the equal most midfielders of any side in the comp(with Geelong) according to his list.

I would hope during 2026 the likes of TK, Cripps, maybe Graham and possibly Duggo as well as one of Flynn/BWill get pushed out.. I like the optimism of some posts with all our draftees in the B23, but I think I realistically Duursma will line up in R1, maybe CDT but likely we go with more senior bodies to start.

Genuinely going to be keen to watch the Beagles as on paper it will be the most competitive team they have had which should bring out the best in some of our young guys who have had too much heavy lifting left to them. With no Livingstone or Jamo it should be AReid as #1 ruck with chop outs from Barnett and JWill, then Archer can put himself in the frame for senior ruck duties.

By 2028 AReid and CDT can be our ruck combo. Warner, Harley and Hewett could be one hell of a dynamic starting midfield (Judd, Cousins, Kerr anyone?). Walter, Shanahan and CDT/AReid is the dream KPF combo. By then Waterman would have my blessing to chase some cash elsewhere for the last couple of years of his career.

Generally not sure on that last forward pocket, I’ve put some hope in Long rediscovering his early form which saw him rated highly internally, otherwise I guess Newton or Champion.

Young is just a stop gap and I’m still a Busslinger believer over Brock as a long term CHB.

I put Davies in as a bit of a Hail Mary and board favorite (OOC next year) but even if it’s DevRob/Hall/FRod as an inside mid role player I think there’s enough talent around them to be a very competitive midfield along with the other lines.

Generally we will have a great age profile and will have drafted more talent by then than most other sides once TAS come in and disrupt the drafts further.

Would be a little surprised if Dev doesn't line up rd 1 - we're crying out for that defensively minded mid who can get first touch and release
I think people just criminally underrate him because he couldn’t take Dunkley’s, the best in their position in the AFL, spot on the lineup

Played half a season and almost won the VFL best & fairest playing that role.

Would win the next 6 Sandovers if he played WAFL full time.

I maybe wrong but isn't there a limit on how many on the Eagles list can play for the Beagles,
No. all can play. we don't have a reserves side.
It is different for the Dockers as they have a deal with Peel to play so many.
Because peel has reserves some of the dockers who are newbies or highly unlikely to be considered for Afl selection
can be played in Peels reserves team. An example was Max Knobel who only played league if Liam Reidy was playing Afl or injured. At Wafl level Peel never had to play two of the Dockers ruckman for balance of their league side.

OK list spots are all but sorted.

Did not include Cripps as his final year IMO.

B: Starcevich, Young, Lindsay
HB: Hough, Ginbey, McCarthy
C: Davis, Dev Roberston, Duursma
HF: Kelly*, Shanahan, Baker
FF: Hewett, Waterman, Hutchingson
FOLL: Flynn, Reid, Graham
INT: Yeo, Duggan, B Allan, A Reid, CDT

* On notice.

Need to manage Yeo into retirement. And find a truly damaging small forward (Champion, Tyler, Newton?)

Still need another decent inside mid rotation to emerge, Rodreguez, Schoenburg or Macrae?. Hough, Yeo, McCarthy, Hewett and Kelly will need to contribute.

WAFL
B: Cole, Brock, Grego
HB: Bazzo, Edwards, Johnston
C: Maric, Macrae, Dewar
HF: Gross, Barnet, Cripps
FF: Owies, J Williams, Newton
FOLL: B Williams, Hall, Schoenberg
INT: Champion, Brockman, T Williams, Rodreguez, ?

If we can keep players fit then our WAFL side should improve quite a bit which in turn should add confidence, development and pressure from below.
